Apple abandoned support for the Newton, but that doesn't mean I'm running for the other platform. Plus, Apple dropped support for the Newton with no warning. It was still being sold when support was dropped. I still didn't go and join the Wintel legions. -

Might try this resource, looks like they have pretty comprehensive Newton information. Appears you could use Sloup on the Newton and a terminal editor on the Mac, maybe there's a more elegant solution for X, but I haven't seen one. -

Newtourage! That's the name of the app to sync Newton with Entourage... sheesh. I believe it's a Classic app, but it uses AppleScript to communicate with Entourage, so it can talk to the X version. -

The dock itself seems to be something of an adaptation of the newton's 'dock'. I'm not sure what it's called on the newt, but there is a toolbar at the bottom (or top or sides) of the screen that you could drag applications to for quick access. -
