  • Not in the picture on Apple's web site. The screen is at 90º right over the base, and the photo is shot from lower than eye level, so that the keyboard looks the same width as the screen. Probably done purely for aesthetic reasons. No big scandal.
  • Alright, now I'm getting too nostalgic. Pardon me while I go install the OS X Public Beta on my Cube. 8)
  • If anything, I think iTunes will help bring about the end of cartels like the RIAA, for the very reason that now, a major label isn't required for great distribution. As long as CDs are #1, artists will have to stick with the labels. But once digita…

  • I was working for a school district when the first iMac came out, and at every school I went to to set up their new iMacs, I'd run across at least a few teachers grabbing the mouse with the palm of their hand, with their fingers falling off the top,…
  • iChat AV isn't included with the iSight? What the hell else would you use it with? Right, right, they want you to upgrad to Panther, so making it a paid download is one thing. But, once you've dropped $150 on the camera, I'd think they would be s…

  • Ahh, the things people will do to get their $3000 computer onto their $200 desk.

  • I have a Cube, and every day since my warranty ran out I've wished that I'd bought the AppleCare. Friggin vertical weak-motored DVD drive...at any rate, BTFAC. $300 is less than Apple will charge you for rubber feet, if history is any indication, so…
  • Do you really notice the stuck pixels outside of a pixel test? I ran a program to show any dead or stuck pixels right after buying my system, and that's when I found my one red stuck pixel. Every now and then I'll notice it, but it's really not an i…
  • Never used their DVDs before, but I used Princo CDs at work a few years back and the silver stuff started flaking off after a few months.

  • I've been lurking long enough now, I figured since my desk is clean, what the hell. Not to mention that I've got the iBong now. 8)

  • It almost seems like the more I reboot, the faster it gets. I assume this technique will eventually reach a point of diminishing returns, though. I've had to give it the ol' ctrl-command-power twice now, when System Preferences hung up and took t…
  • I have also noticed a drastic performance hit with Panther. This is on the rev. A 17" PowerBook. I've rebooted several times, and some things have gotten faster, but most notably is the much much slower log-in process (took :90 as opposed to :40 on …
  • Once again, give me a break. IT's not using the "race card" to point out the discrepancy between what these Armchair Executives complained about in Apple's advertising 12 months ago, vs. what they're bitching about today. I'm looking forward to s…
