  • Sonos fires back at Apple's HomePod by offering a pair of One speakers for $349

I have two Sonos middle-sized speakers. They sound okay, not great. But the software vis-à-vis Apple is awful, buggy, and incomprehensible. Plus, you have to manually tune them every time they are moved by walking around the space waving your iPhone like an idiot. And don’t try tuning them for outdoors (patio), it doesn’t work. Buying a HomePod tomorrow morning and putting my Sonoses on Craigslist.
I have had Sonos speakers since 2009. I am sorry you find the Sonos software buggy. I have never experienced this and find it alway works well. I am not sure how you can compare Sonos software to Apple’s as Apple have not yet released a multi room speaker system like Sonos. The ability to tune the speakers with the help of your iPhone is an optional added feature for improved sound. You don’t have to use it and the speakers will still work fine.

    Apple should have known better.
All they did was fix a problem.  Now they are being sued for fixing it.
This is true, but all they had to do is look back at all the nonsense written about them for the past twenty years. Then they would have realised not being up front about it, straight away, was going to end badly.
Presumably all kinds of improvements are made with each release of iOS. I am not aware that Apple lists everything that they have changed, improved or added. Instead doesn’t Apple provide a summary of some key features that they think are of interest? Perhaps what happened was simply the battery throttling among many many changes was not considered worthy of promotion.

  • Apple sues group that occupied Paris store to protest company's unpaid taxes

I don’t know how true this is but a French friend told me that protesting is considered normal in France. It this true then I wonder if Apple has properly considered the possibility of a backlash against it for its legal action?

I wonder how Apple are viewing their investment in video production? Who is the target audience and what part of the Apple business will gain new customers? Is this just about making Apple Music more attractive or perhaps at some point Appme intend to hive off video to a separate subscription? I am sure they have a long term view but it’s not clear yet.

  • New Apple countersuit targets Qualcomm's Snapdragon processors

Qualcomm seem to have not considered that there may be all sorts of unforeseen consequences to taking on such a powerful company as Apple. They now seem to be caught in a pincer movement between Apple and Broadcom. Not saying this is coordinated, simply that it is one unforeseen effect. Qualcomm are possibly going to throw everything they can think of at Apple in a last desperate attempt to get the upper hand. Probably this will not work, the share price will drop further, and Broadcom will snap them up.
