You definitely should be able to take an email address within Mail and create a new contact (or add it to an existing one.)
When reading the email, click on the 'Name >' bit, it'll highlight blue and then take you to the a screen titled "From", with 'Create New Contact' and 'Add to Existing Contact' as options.
Not even a mention of encryption. What a joke. If I could store documents on my corporate Mac OS X Server system, then I'd consider this useful.
For that you need ezShare, works over WiFi from an iPod touch, absolutely brilliant!, would probably work over the internet if you were prepared to risk letting Bonjour out onto the net and your devices in, IMHO, too big a risk. Does iDisk too...
This works great and is also free! Not bad. I wish it supported password protected pdf files, but it does not.
I am currently using AirSharing Pro which was like $10, and it also supports mobile me iDisk as well as way more document types including password protected pdfs.
This works great! Now I can finally take documents along with me and share them with other people. Makes the MobileMe service even better. I love how you can share really large files that can't be emailed (it emails a custom link to the file on the MM server). I also like that I can access all those files without them having to be on the iPhone, taking up space.
This app is going on the first screen on my iPhone.
I find it amusing that people are excited that it's "free". You have to pay $99 a year for MobileMe to use it!
MobileMe is a lot more than just iDisk. I know people are incensed that Apple dare charge for this service, however, I've had it for 3 years now and it's been very useful and worth the price. I use my iDisk to share large files with clients that can't be sent over email, and I can also give clients access to our public iDisk folder to upload files. I've published over 80 photo galleries on MM to share with family and friends (it's SO easy with iPhoto and MM), and it also allows me to synch my laptop, desktop and iPhone.
Personally, the "Find my iPhone" feature alone is worth the $99/year (which works out to $8.25/month).

Stop being obtuse. You know very well that it's a free viewer for a paid for service. What did you expect? That apple provide MobileMe for free to iPhone users?

It's called MobileMe iDisk - it's for the MobileMe iDisk - why would you expect something different? Do you also complain that the Keynote Remote app doesn't let you control PowerPoint?
Am I understanding right that it doesn't let you download files from iDisk? If so what is the point?
You can save up 200MB on your iPhone or iPod Touch which seems sufficient to me. Storing GBs of files locally on iPhone or iPod Touch defeats the purpose IMO.

Now, I have to find my debit card!!!

(this worked in iPhone OS 2.x, too.)

Free is good though!
I had to type MobileMe iDisk and physically hit "Search". It wasnt showing up on the autocomplete. [US]
Thanks for that tip- couldn't find it any other way.
So now I finally get to use my iDisk! iPhone keeps giving me something new every week.

I think it takes time for them to update their indexes. It didn't for met, and then later on it worked. FYI, this is on the Canadian store.

Give us a break. Please.

Apple says that files recently accessed via the application can be viewed when there is no reception, such as traveling on an airplane.
Files are downloaded once they are viewed, so, yes, you can download them from iDisk.
