I agree. But, I think that their Mac success has been stimulated by their iPod, and now iPhone sales. I think Apple sees their future, and profits, in the gadget arena. I think they will grow tired of the Mac products as soon as the sales slow down. The margins will get thinner and the support will increase. I think Apples sees consumer electronics as their future. mp3, phones, TV, maybe a Small Tablet, etc.
I think their lack of innovation in the new Macs proves this point. We had to get all excited about a touchpad and aluminum case. wow. They should have bio-metrics for login, Blu-Ray, built in cell phone option, piezo option, built in projector.
They don't want a very big market share for their Macs. It takes away much of the appeal(elitus) and also introduces them to more scrutiny about have such a closed system. If they get much more market share they will have to open themselves up to clones like IBM did.

I own the MBP15" 2 chip gpu alum uni body glass glossy screen 3,02 GHz 500 G 7200 RPM
it is simply the finest 15" laptop ever made. . its fast powerful and so cool when i play a movie or a game . No other laptop at any price can even come close to what this beauty offers . and having MAC OS ices the cake . but hey thats me and my stupid halo/cod4 games talking and 310 to yuma so fantastic i watched it 3x times in a row . i also runa 1/2 mill a yr biz .
You can for 2000 dollars less get a decent netbook > laptop that surfs the net and things like that . I suggest this may be your speed in devices.

Why apple laptop sales are going thru the roof in the middle of a worldwide downturn ??
Apple laptops SALES are up 14 percent in sales worldwide and the rest are down from 14 to 32 percent ? How can this be ?
They can afford to buy Macs with not having to pay for health care.

Socialized, single payer health insurance sucks duckbutter but it isn't free. Well, unless you're poor or on the dole and that is not much different from what America has in its medicaid program.
