It's apple's ballpark. They make and break the rules. Leave them alone.
You think 20 odd million people are going to throw their iPhones away because a handfull of developers threaten to go to the Zune-phone!?!
Blog releases like this are just link bait to advertise vapourware. If I were Apple I would announce and enforce a minimum 2 month ban on release post-approval to developers who publicly criticize their process.
That'll keep the interwebs focussed on real issues... like how many cameras the new iTablet is going to have!
The anti-Apple sentiment has been around for many, many years. To call it a new 'meme' and claim the 'Apple is evil' idea is responsible for most/all criticism of Apple is simply lazy and meant to illicit emotional reactions from both sides. That anyone would read that piece and feel it explains anything is really quite astounding. Building up a strawman and then taking it down with comical rhetoric is old and tired.
And his best 'argument' that all Apple haters must be clamoring for google-style openness and that this line of thinking is a crock of shit, is that Apple has been successful.
1) Not everyone that criticizes Apple is an Apple hater. Many simply see problems that could be corrected.
2) Not everyone that criticizes Apple wants them to turn into Google.
3) Success is not an indicator of correctness. It is an indicator of good execution. Microsoft is very successful too. Does that automatically validate their behavior?
I honestly can't believe you even posted that link as some sort of explanation for your dogmatic belief that Apple can do no wrong and all who question Dear Leader are, what was your term, trolls, a plague or misfit. I guess those that want to resurrect the old religious wars of the 90's will cling to anything to take a stand.
