Use dropbox instead of LiveMesh. http://www.getdropbox.com/. It works very well as a document sharing solution and doesn't try to do everything under the sun like LiveMesh does.
DropBox cannot even get close to livemesh in syncing abilities. On LiveMesh you can select any folder on your system (with exception for library files) and automatically sync between computers (Macs and PCs). It gives you 5GB of storage free, and the upload and download speeds are simply amazing, a blast when comparing with iDisk (and even with dropbox).
I tried dropbox for some time and as you say it's good for sharing, but regarding syncing files between computers without have to think about it,there is still no other service as good as livemesh. Unfortunately not much mac users even try to use just because it is made by Microsoft...
but accordingly to the post in the graphpad blog it's a flaw in the system, that they are trying to bypass.
Hmm... Sounds like a rationalization to me. I read that as "I really don't know how to program that OOP drawing feature for the Mac platform using my Microsoft IDE, and I don't want to bother learning Apple's Objective C or Xcode IDE.

maybe you are right, this is what the developer wrote:
"it is likely that Apple will fix this glitch in Snow Leopard. If they don't, we'll try to bypass the problem in release 5.0c."
Is it just me, or has the Snowy Leopard upgrade been successful for most of the users?
It has been successful for most users; those who are having problems, 9/10 have bought it upon themselves.

As for the Snow Leopard?s stability, this idea about the OS only getting "real stable till around the 10.x.4? is nonsense. Snow Leopard is more stable now than Leopard was at a couple point updates in. They beat their dead line and didn?t do a massive UI overhaul at nearly the last minute like they did with Leopard.
I think people also ignore what 10.3 was like as well; I remember what it was like, and when compared, 10.6 is in a far better position.

Everything else works fine.
Sure some people are having issues - but that's just the nature of the beast. To cite that Mac OSX isn't stable until three or four updates is absurd - all the people who upated just fine usually aren't the ones posting in forums like this
Of course; how many of them come on this forum and whine instead of putting the hard word on the software vendors? Its alot easier to spam this forum with whining than getting in contact with the software vendor and pushing them to provide a free update.

No, the fact that the very first post that a person makes is to whine about Apple tells an awful lot about the person. If this person had been posting for several months and then makes a statement regarding Snow Leopard, no one would think twice about it.
I read his post and it was trollish; just as pathetic and trollish as those who post on Windows forums and claim that Windows 'sux0r' because a service pack has been released.

That excuse reminds me of Microsoft and them claiming that the issue regarding Spaces and Office 2008 was related to a bug by Apple but people ignore the fact that Office 2004 didn't suffer from the same problem.
Prism can't expect customers to believe that there is a small, microscopic number of programmers who are effected - if it were such a wide spread issue then more than just a couple of products should be affected. I'll be my bottom dollar that it is a company who has horrible code and refuses to move to Cocoa.
Why is it Apples responsibility to bend over backwards for lazy software and hardware vendors who don't get their act together and provide software updates on the release of MacOS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'?
Yes, I said the same thing when Vista was released because even if Vista had the best drivers and software in the world - the operating system would still suck because it is fundamentally flawed from the ground up.
when you NEED to print for work in a tough biz world . no thaving a updated driver sucks . Apple tried its best but HP and KODAK could give SHIT . I could not print for 4 hrs until i went against hp advice and re installed the old stuff. Bingo .
Yet many SW companies are ready. FOR a life with snowy lep 10.6
Then maybe you should go back to Vista. I hear Windows 7 will cater to your type.
There always those switchers who bring over their Windows habits using every non approved Haxie to the Mac platform negating the Mac's integrated software to hardware solutions, which by the way, usually works very well for the Mac community.
There will always be third party driver problems with new versions of the Mac OS. Apple can't write the drivers for these developers. My iMac almost never has a problem with OS upgrades. It's super stable and just works. The secret is I try very hard to keep it virgin Apple. I pick software by how reputable the developer is on the Mac platform. The biggest problem, IMO, is from Windows ports and developer who refuse to follow Apple guidelines.
If you are this type, I'll assume you'll hate every word I said, but I could care less. Everything on my Snow Leopard iMac works just fine.
I entirely agree with your approach, and I rarely have problems with my iMac. My transition to SL was smooth.
What a lot of people don't understand is that vendors can't successfully test for every conceivable situation. Some vendors try to bridge platforms, but end up with a mediocre product.
YOU are responsible for your hacks and ad-hoc set-ups. A lot of people create their own jams, and then complain about it without even recognizing what they did to themselves.
I even read a tech columnist's comment about Microsoft's "legendary backward compatibility". Really? It is a ship anchor against future development of Windows; IT is Microsoft's own worst enemy. I appreciate the depreciation of PPC and Carbon frameworks. It is a good software development strategy.

GO APPLE
GO SNOWY
And the worse part, HP claimed my printer was supported but it isn't; yet Canon is able to support my MP240 no problems; they're not super high end printers so there should be no reason why it can't work.
So even if you did the right thing to check for compatibility - the compatibility list was flawed; so those who did the right thing were screwed right from the start.

SL was easy and fast and without a hitch.
I even paid for the "Family Pak" license and was glad to do it the morning of first release.
Now if all my add-on software catches-up....
Gawd! That makes me a Apple FanBoy!
Well we all are that why we here posting!
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php
Apple even references this in their page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson
They cite the 5.2.3 release, but the 5.2.4 just adds more printers with more improvements:
Welcome to Gutenprint 5.2.4, a stable release of Gutenprint 5.2. This
release has bug fixes and a few new features over 5.2.3.
Gutenprint will run on any reasonably modern computer running Linux,
Macintosh OS X (10.3 or above), Solaris, or any other UNIX-like
operating system. If you plan to compile this package from source,
you will also need an ANSI C compiler, such as gcc (recommended). A
compiler is not required if you are installing a pre-compiled package.
* Changes from 5.2.3
1) New printers supported in this release:
Canon PIXMA iX4000
Canon SELPHY CP-520
EPSON Stylus Photo R2880
EPSON Stylus DX4000
2) Printing to the Epson PM-D600 has been corrected.
3) Printing using the manual sheet guide on the Epson Stylus Photo
R2400 has been corrected.
4) Printing to the EPSON Artisan 700 and 800 and Stylus Photo
P/TX700 and 800 series printers has been corrected. Among other
issues, it should now be possible to print reliably using the
photo tray.
5) The names of the following Epson printers have been corrected:
EPSON Stylus Photo PX700W
EPSON Stylus Photo TX700W
EPSON Stylus Photo PX800FW
EPSON Stylus Photo TX800FW
6) The names of various Ricoh and Ricoh-based printers have been
corrected to match Ricoh's model names and the OpenPrinting
database.
7) The EPSON inkjet utility, escputil, now correctly prints the
color name for low ink warnings.
8) Printing resolution names have been fixed in non-English locales
in CUPS PPD files.
9) A Russian translation has been added. The Danish and Italian
translations have been updated.
10) Support has been added for L-size paper with tear-off borders.
11) The ordering of inks in quadtone ink sets on Epson printers has
been corrected. In addition, support has been added for MIS
quadtone and 6 tone inks.
12) It is now possible to adjust the ink parameters for quadtone
inks in CUPS. Previously, these parameters could only be
adjusted in the enhanced Print plugin for GIMP and other native
Gutenprint applications.
13) Updating CUPS PPD files is now faster.
Built in BJNP support would be nice
There is a reverse engineer cups-bjnp project at sourceforge, but doesn't support the latest CUPS 1.4.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cups-bjnp/
I'd see if this is a request from CUPS/Apple on the CUPS developer list. If not, there are forums at CUPS to address such a request:
