Apple should just call its new mouse the Logitech Optical Mouse.
That is the best idea in this whole thread. Finally we then have a good mouse from Apple. Even the Mighty Mouse, which is by far the best mouse Apple ever made, is just bad compared to the cheapest normal 3 button with a scrollwheel mouse you can find.
Everyone hating on the MightyMouse needs to go wash their hands every once in a while. I've been using it for well over a year and it hasn't skipped a beat. My only issues with it are A. the scrolling action works terribly under Windows (but the MacBooks' touch pads are the same way; I blame Windows because even non-Apple mice scroll well in OS-X), B. it took me a while to intuitively place my hand on the mouse so that I can consistently hit the right-click button (and not have it register as left-click), and C. the side buttons registering a click every time you pick it up to move it (I just disabled the side buttons, I never used them anyway). So this new multi-touch mouse seems geared towards those with hands so unclean they should not be touching sacred, shiny Apple products anyway.
And I loved the puck-mouse. I wanted to keep one as a pet so I could love him and pet him and squeeze him and I would call him George...
And didn't Apple license the MightyMouse moniker from whoever owns the intellectual property rights to the original cartoon character? Where did these other guys get permission to use this name for its products? What is it that I'm not understanding about usage laws? I've got to be missing something somewhere (probably a lot of somethings), so someone please point it out.

C'mon, the best Apple mouse was the old round ADB mouse.
I still have my rounded ADB mouse. That thing took whatever I threw at it for 8 years. Still have my old StyleWriter 1200, too. One of the best printers I've ever owned.
Thank you so very much for recommending this, I am having much fun working with two laptops working next to each other. It took two days to setup up with my very beginner technical skills, I was very happy when it worked ! Thank YOU !

Or even the previous angular ADB mouse.

You all can keep your mice... I'll stick with my trackball.
