As far as hot live bands / "Jam Bands ", no one holds a candle to The Radiators
Think Stevie Ray Vaughn meets Little Feat meets Grateful Dead..... and they are a bar band, so you can actually get up close and SEE what they play. Much like the Dead, they rotate about 500 songs, and no two shows are ever the same, and their fans are, well, VERY devoted.... much like we are with our Macs

gonna have to give them a listen. anything that remotely sounds like SRV with Little Feat and the Dead has to be good
ZZ Top was the loudest concert I have ever been to. It's pretty funny, when I was like 6 years old my favorite band was ZZ Top. I still have a project I did in kindergarten where I drew a picture of them on stage as "what did you do over the summer break"
The radiators are pretty damn good. An I realized I have heard them before. They are coming to NYC @ BB King's in April. Perhaps I'll have to go to that show
(BTW, BB King's has one of the crappiest menus I have ever seen. Don't even have buffalo wings and a hamburger is over 10 bucks)

I'm beginning to understand why you have unusually good taste in music for someone still in high school...
Anyway, HERE is a 9 MB mp3 of one of their originals, from a soundboard recording. They just had their 24th anniversary, and have played over 2900 shows...
I'm on a mailing list that trades their live shows. They toss out an 8-analog-3-digital patch panel hooked directly to the soundboard at every show, and let anyone just plug in their DAT... and yes, NYC is one of their favorite places to play. They've got a big Colorado tour coming up soon, but not before I see them in FL next weekend
Being from New Orleans, they are also one of the best reasons to keep Tulane on your short list.
P.S. : I'd be happy to send a few CDs to anyone who's interested..
Well, Karma is as Karma does... as I was typing my hyping of my favorite band, the mailman was delivering 3 RADS shows, 9 CDs from a kind soul who I don't even know.
BEST of the bunch is their 20th anniversary show from 1998 at the Great American Music Hall in San Fran. It's an ACOUSTIC show, which they do rarely, but very, very nicely.
Comments
