I respect almost everything you write on this forum but this is just wrong. He was not a "titan" except perhaps in the USA, but I'm already sick of arguing about it with the other guy who thinks he was a saint. There was a lot more to abstract expressionism than Pollock.
To each his own. I just hope the new Apple device will cost considerably less than a Pollock original. Besides isn't what someone is willing to pay a definition of its value. Titan, saint, bohemian, whatever, his work does cost a bit of coin. I hope your art is as valuable someday.
iTunes is based on standard format acc and making that also the de-factor standard with the success of the iPod. And it pushed the other formats away.
Today with online media we have a similar situation with flash and online book formats. Apple can with html 5 and canvas change it with another hardware hit.
I wasn't trying to be mean, obviously English isn't your first language so perhaps you found some meaning in my words that I didn't intend.
That being said, I have 8 years of Art School, I've been a practising Industrial Designer in the past, and I know a lot about Art and Art History.
I can assure you Jackson Pollock was a "lesser" artist, and did not "revolutionise" anything. It's just a fact, no offence intended.
my english is fine - thanks! And so is my logic: this conversation is about the invitation, not about what one might think about pollock. My comments are free from judgement of his art. Or, at the very least, they try to be. You spend a lot of words here wanting to trash this very important artist. Fine - I agree with you that any artists influence is always up to debate - but please somehow make your remarks relevant to our conversation about the invitation. Thanks.
Running out the door, so no time to read the comments, but could it possibly be Apple saying that other tablet manufacturers have basically just been throwing paint on the wall, hoping it will stick, while the very clear Apple logo in the corner shows that Apple has a very clear vision of what a tablet really needs to be?

okay, I'll stop. But you can't just rewrite the thread, anyone can look up above and see that your English is halting at best, and that you started the whole thing by going on in two separate posts about what a bloody fantastic genius Pollock was.
You drove the thread off course. I just felt compelled to join in when I couldn't stand you praising him to the heavens.
Back on topic, ... The biggest thing I hope for the tablet is that it will be a device one can successfully use to draw on, so for me the style of this invitation is most promising in that regard. Here's hoping it's a big success.
Emerging from and replacing the confusion of multiple [paint splatters], Apple stands on the solid background of [a calming color], shining with a simple, familiar white purity which cuts through ALL the clutter.
It is a very powerful and evocative image. Apple must have just about the best PR firm in the world.
You have said that twice now. No, it's that they aren't giving much away and their products are in high demand.

Ah, there you go -- clearly Apple's message is, if you can afford a Jackson Pollack you can afford Apple's new iDevice.
Now that I look at it again after reading all these posts, I'm seeing a red jackass licking a green lollypop. Funny how the powers of suggestion work.
No, it's that as of late they never existed in the first place, anymore
So as the newer product rumors emerge in the near future, and the inevitable naysayers start chirping away, you can take comfort in the fact that history will quickly blot them out of existence.
So go ahead everyone and continue to explore the possibilities!
I want this decade to produce products with flexible displays and.....yes I'll say it.....HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY TECHNOLOGY!! Oh, and consumer level ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. The real kind that is self guiding and self programmable!

It will make the quality of the browser very important. Microsoft will again be in a poor situation with IE and so many different strategies.
I still have these points as the important tech changes to look for on the 27th
1. iPhone apps on mac os x instead of widgets
2. HTML 5 and canvas for online publications. Super tools for the content creators
3. The iTablet working as an interactive touch pad when connected to a Mac.
4. Mac OS X iWork and iLife apps working on the iTable in fullscreen only mode. One app running at a time.
5. iTable support for iPhone apps.
Regards

That is my exact thought! Bravo Dr. Watson!!!

What are we to make of the graphics?
Make only this conclusion: It has a colored screen.
Larger iPod Touch and iPhone with color backing, more storage, optional stylus.
Updated Mac's with newer processors.
jobs will announce a multicolour paintball gun and start giving anyone who disagrees some really nasty welts with up close shots...
it will be lighter, shoot faster, and be insanely fun!
LOL! Where are the naysayers now? They're extinct I bet hahaha!

did mactripper (teckstud) take the day off?
I don't get it. When he's here you're giving out, and when he's not you're asking where he's gone.
Really the invitation in no way implies a tablet.
Except for the tablet-shaped outline that it.
No tablet

Teckstud is that you? Going for the long odds huh? Sorry man but it's going to be more than a large ipod Touch.
Heh. I guess it is a Rorschach Test, in that we're all seeing what we want to see.
Hey, maybe that's it-- the tablet can be anything you want it to be.
Not everything.

Apple does not stream video of their live events.
Here, I'll fix that for you.
Sadly, Apple does not stream video of their live events.

Yeah, you're going to have to wait until the 27th for that.
Here, I'll fix that for you.
Sadly, Apple does not stream video of their live events.
