Oh by the way, will there be touch screen porn videos now?

I guess you know all is well in the world when you've got easily accessible 3D HD touch screen porn.

wrong, wrong, wrong. Apple would not do that because then it would establish a precedent for other CEO-nitwits to talk about upcoming products. When Apple say don't disclose they mean it. No exceptions. The problem here is that CEO's think of themselves as a special breed for whom rules on non-disclosure do not apply.

Have we all forgotten the CEO of Sun and his premature comment about ZFS? Frozen out of the keynote, with no mention at all.

Totally agree. This guy will now get all of his deals with Apple revoked untill the end of time. This was supposed to be a one more thing moment!!!!!!! Now he has ruined it for everyone. Steve will be soooo pissed that his greatest creation, which he safeguarded for like 2 years is out just one day before launch. It was almost perfect, not even $100,000 dollars could get a snapshot of this thing. Now it is out there for free. I wish I did not check apple insider today....

So are you angry about the confirmation of its existence? I mean it's been said before, we all knew it was going to be unveiled. I guess being 99% sure we'll be seeing it is more fun than being 100% certain.

I doubt anyone in the audience is going to shout out "...whatever Steve...get on with it..." at Steve when he says "...just one more thing..."

Probably, but by who? Wall Street has zero love for Jobs and vice versa. And I would personally love to find out this McGraw Hill guy placed trades of AAPL with his supposed "inside info".

It surely wouldn't be the first, or the last. Many at that level still feel they can make the rules up as they go, and some actually get away with it - at least for awhile.

Go ask Martha what's-her-name (One dares not speak it's name!). She worked for a brokerage house for 10+ years and was licensed, but somehow forgot the rules when she felt it would benefit her personally.

It would beat the heck out of MacPlaymate. Not that I have had any personal experience with such a trashy, but remarkably addicting, piece of software.

Unlikely. There are probably major functionality differences between 3.x and 4.0.

Even before iPhone OS 3.0 was released, Apple probably forked the source tree for 4.0. While this would not result in a complete feature freeze, it probably forced major items to be checked into the 4.0 branch whereas more minor issues could continue in the 3.x branch.

If they think that standard Mac OS/X apps will have a chance in hell then yeah they have lost touch. However we are likely to see far more useful Touch apps than are currently seen. For example they might have a Touch based iPhoto that has capabilities from Aperture. Likewise a touch based photo editor is not impossible. Either way direct ports won't cut it, each app will need to be configured/ refactored or otherwise rethought for the Touch environment.

In any event what ultimately can be done with the new device depends upon it's hardware more than anything. RAM is key for many of these functionalities, but RAM also impacts size and heat. It will be interesting to see where the trade offs are made. A happy spot would be around 2GB of RAM.

The problem is that is a lot of board space, heat/power and expense. Apple will likely have 1GB or less on board. If so that greatly reduces the capability of the device to run memory hog apps if there is no paging.

If we see Terry McGraw on stage tomorrow then this was a controlled leak, if we don't then he's on Steve's sh1tlist.

IMO, a big expensive iTouch is a blunder. Unless it is cheap enough to be an impulse buy, I don't see folks snapping them up.
