Funny that it comes with IE, but not Netscape, and 2 apps from OmniGroup but not OmniWeb.
Damn M$!!
Well, it looks like something to tide the pros over for a few months. The GeForce4 is interesting.
Will that make any difference, the DDR L3 cache?

Ahh, but its a GeForce4MX not a full-fledged GeForce4.
Oh yea, why L3 cache with DDR when it still uses regular 133 sdram?
Will that make any difference, the DDR L3 cache?
If this rumor is true, it's most likely a typo since Apple has been using DDR SRAM for a while.
They still should make it dual-G4 in all the machines. Sigh. In fact, they should make the iMac a dual-G4! Multitasking is very very smooth with multiple processors.
Might be the real thing though...
"2MB backside L3 cache running at one-fourth the processor speed (867MHz and dual 800MHz systems)"
This is typical. The cache is rated at a fraction of the processor speed. I'm not up on this but I thought that cache memory was generally SRAM, not SDRAM so DDR wouldn't apply. On the other hand, this may be a misunderstanding by the author of this page as this seems to be a reseller and is definitely not Apple's own page.
Listen carefully: The G5 doesn't exist yet, we won't see it this year. Performance does not double, at least not with Apple in this reality. The Apollo comes next, probably with the new motherboard, maybe at MWNY if things go well. It will be an incremental increase in speed - think 20-40% for the processor with a bus that should be able to keep up.
There is no super magic processor waiting in the wings. The wizard is actually an old man hiding behind the curtain trying to do the best with what's available from a floundering Motorola.

I'm a Campus Rep and I live on the Learn and Earn site, and that looks real, but I have never seen it and I can't find it now.

Can you find a page like it (i.e. nearly the same but with the specs for the current line)? Perhaps someone took the real page, edited the HTML, and put it on geocities.

That seems kinda messed up... Maybe its just a typo? But still.. If it was the radeon 7000, I dont think thats really any better then the Geforce2mx... so youd think apple would just stick a gf2mx in there.
If these are true, I'll be kinda disapointed. While the 2 top models are nice, the bottom model aint so groovy CD-RW? 40GB? Lets see.. the top end iMac comes with a Superdrive, a 60gb HD, the same processor, and maybe a slightly faster graphics card.... hmmmm. Oh yeah, the g4 is 100 bucks cheaper, but it also doesn't include a monitor.
No matter what.. I'll be buying whenever they're updated.
