Face it! Our government is corrupt. It has been for a while. Rep. or Dem. or anyone else in power. I do believe there needs to be a government in order to stay organized. People are flawed, left wing, right wing=same bird. We are so intent on disputing each other that we dont see the big picture. Most americans will not stand up until something happens to them personally. A mentality of "i dont know or care as long as it does not affect me, as long as they dont disturb my box." We need to unite as fellow countrymen and women and shout loud enough for us to mess with the governments box. Come on! did you know that it is illegal in some states to play dodgeball? It is just an example of infringements on our personal lives. Some people are quick to say "our lifestyle now is so much greater than before so i dont care what the government does as long as we continue to live better." Do we really live better? Really? actually think about it...the child with more toys does not necesarily have better parents than the one whose parents are actually there. Our rights are being taken away daily and without a peep from the public. I should not be monitored, flagged, or anything else if I have done nothing wrong. Bush's mindset and actions are only the way they are because we as a weakened U.S. society have allowed not only him but all members of our government to manipulate their power.
Is GWB using his power as president to hinder formal investigations into his relatives or is he just not talking about it?

As far as I know he is not using any governmental power to hinder investigation.There are no ongoing investigations by any government agencies.The Bush family is very careful in controlling information being printed about them.For example,I just looked in the U of D catalog and couldn't find a single biography on Prescott Bush,which is strange because he was a very powerful senator.I just find it very odd that the press publishes extensive pieces about Bush's daughters drinking habits but completely ignores the fact that his grandfather commited treason and collaborated with mass murderers.I would like to know the reasons for this.

Here's what I see as "wrong" with George W. Bush:
1) He's not corrupt enough as a President. He's working too hard for the good of the country (as a whole). He needs to be focusing on his own personal interests.
2) He loves his wife and it shows in public. Gosh, if you're going to be President, George, at least act like you don't love her!
3) He's taking away our personal liberties. Forget the fact that this country was hunkey-dorey before 9/11 and that we NEED more security measures now.
4) He's not Bill Clinton. Damn, we need a smooth-talking, womanizing, sly President who needs to use a teleprompter for EVERY damn speech he does.
Man, I already covered all the morals of the election stuff before, so im not going ot repeat it. Bush won the game though Gore won the vote, thats what you all keep saying, thats what my point it. The difference is whether we see the winning of the game as sufficient for the formation of a government.

Actually, yes. The government has their reasons even if they don't make them public. If they thought I was a big enough threat to the country, they should put me in jail. When you walk in with the assumption that Gore should have won "in a perfect world" you are determining the outcome before the situation is even played out.

Two machine recounts found Bush the winner. The handcount in progress was stopped by the Florida SC and SCOTUS because it would not be completed in time for the results to be filed.
