what is it, like 160 hp? yes, thats slow compared to the others i named. only sports car mazda has is the rx-7. which is why those "zoom zoom zoom" commercials really annoy the hell outta me, cause they dont even have any "sports cars" left...

Yes I know, but the M roadster is ugly as sin, while the s2k at least looks halfway decent. It's quick, but certainly not fast. It could use an extra 75 - 150 horsepower.</strong><hr></blockquote>

    you're joking, right.

    a) 315 hp isn't enough?

    b) it's ugly? and the s2000 is pretty in comparison? are you sure you're not mistaking the m roadster and the (debatably) wierd looking m coupe?

he's talking about dumping an RX-7 rotary engine into the miata.

    definitely not slow.

actually, the M roadster is a hideous design. the Z3 is just ugly. i dont see how people like it...

of course, i could drive the M roadster just fer the performance, but i wouldnt buy it if i could get something that wasnt so ugly...

theyre almost the same size. what would the point...?

why not just get the rx-7 instead of tryin to make the miata into something it aint...?

It's not the HP, its the acceleration. An M roadster is only a 12.7 - 12.8 second car, and that's pretty spunky, but not fast. The reason I'd like to use the engine in the S2k is that it has much more potential than the F20. Currently turbocharged S2ks are only running 12.0 - 12.5s, and they're pretty much topped out without some major internal work due to their low displacement and high compression. Plus I just like a lot of low end grunt, and the 3.2 liter has a more usable powerband. It's not an LS6 of course, but I don't think that would fit.

I guess I have odd tastes in styling, but while I like the current 3 and 5 series styles, I just never found the Z3 attractive. At all.

Why dump a perfectly good engine like that into a shitbox like the Miata?

I absolutely adore the freakin' M Coupe! That's right, I said it! I love those sonsabitches at Bayerische Motoren Werke and those godforsaken yuppiemobiles. I'm out of the closet now! I want an M Coupe

Actually, I dream of the M5... *sigh*

The Z3, M-Coupe and M-Roadster cars are probably my favorite looking 2-seaters right now. Ugly as sin they are not.

By looks alone, I'd put roadsters in this order:

    Z3, Boxster, S2000, SLK, MR2 Spyder, Miata

IMO, giant wings are the modern equivalent to the IROC-Z. Giant Wing=Small Penis.

To answer the question, though, I'd pick the white one. The wheels need to be a bit bigger.

Not long ago one of my friends with a "tricked out" Mustang GT was showing off for me, my mom, my brother, and my girlfriend... you know, demonstrating his new "competition" tachometer, and revving his big macho engine. When he shut the car off and got out, he was all proud of himself (even though he never drives the car above 55 mph), but my girlfriend said disdainfully "Nice car.... sorry about your penis." I thought that was pretty good.

The 13B REW has 280hp and something like 230ft lbs of torque. 8000rpm redline. A 13B RENESIS (brand new) hooked up to the twins on the REW would produce 300rwhp without stressing the engine at all. Of course nobody has done anything like that. . . yet.

Being that the miata (R) is a lot lighter and (in my book) more agile than the S2k, putting in the turbo rotary makes it a rocket.

As for the discussion about the m roadster and coupe, they look pretty good, especially in person. I like them slightly better, design wise, than the s2k. Some guy parks his M Coupe next to my 7 (in the back of the lot were both taking up two spaces and have covers on.) I have yet to met him (orpossibly her). It's a nice looking car.

Oh yeah, we're not assholes: there is nothing but emtpy lot around us.

    One more thing: Spoilers

Don't dump 'em. They make really good trunk handles.

First of all, I don't think the M roadster is 12.7, but I'm not going to argue.

But what I really have to say is that its a lot more fun to drive around hard turns and freak out your friends (or in my case friend) than it is to drag. Dragging isn't really that fun. Been there, done that. So be wise. Buy a car that can hit turns.

Well, there's a new Z3 in the pipe... here's the first official shots...

A bit larger, a bit less retro, a bit more Z8 in the rear, a bit more TT up front... also built on the new 3 series suspension instead of a holdover from the '80s... looks like a winner...

Nice picts, but unfortunately take with a wide angle. Difficult to appreciate the right proportions of the car in this conditions.

I was gonna say.... a fisheye lens is maybe not the best way to convey what the body styling looks like. SEEMS not bad looking.
