****MARCH MADNESS****
I'm starting this thread a little early, as the selection show isn't until Sunday. It is championship week, and a lot of stuff could change the outcome. Teams may be passed on because of what happens this week.
I'm really excited. Hopefully my Bearcats can get a #1 seed somewhere. A lot of predictors are putting the Buckeyes TOO LOW in my opinion. They are definitely a legit 4 or 5 seed. Hopefully a Big Ten tournament title can secure it.
Early insight:
Here are a few teams to watch out for in the Big Dance according to TW
Butler Bulldogs- 25-5, but currently on the bubble with an early Horizon tourney exit, have been ranked during the season
Souther Illinois Salukis- this team is good. Should get an automatic bid despite the loss to Creighton. 26 wins.
Marquette Eagles- the unknown known, this team is good and could win C-USA tourney, Eagles will fly in March
More will come as the field is chosen.

Go right through for MSU,
Watch the points keep growing!
Spartan temas are bound to win,
They're fighting with a vim.
RAH RAH RAH!
But I digress...
Sadly they probably won't make it past the second round. Who knows though, they have been on a role (five straight wins) and Marcus Taylor is THE MAN!
They are probably an 8 or 9 seed right now, but hopefully they can have a good Big Ten Tournament and get themselves up to a seven.
I don't know though, having to play Indiana in Indianoplis will be tough.
Jared Jeffries in foul trouble was why they won the last time.
i think we actually won over 5 games this year...
the sad thing is is that this is one of our good years...
oh well, at least our baseball teams in the top 15 now.
GO DUCKS!!!

I'm still trying to cope with the fact that my team, the Iowa Hawkeyes, are the most disappointing team of the year.

I hear ya, brother...what a sad excuse for a season they've had. I'd buy ya a beer if I could, but there is ANOTHER kind of March Madness afoot...
...oh yes, you know what I'm talking about...
...the NHL March 19th trade deadline fast approaches, the GM meetings are over and the wheeling and dealing to catch Detroit is about to begin. Expect Colorado or St. Louis and possibly even Dallas to dish out some young talent for the likes of Darius Kasparaitis, Robert Lang and several others on the market...waa hoooo!
Hockey kicks arse .
Just wondering: why in the hell does our UBB system give "as-" the asterisk treatment, huh?

Haven't been following them recently.
Anyone know how they're doing? They used to be really good. Roy Williams is a great coach. Unfortunately, the last couple of seasons I followed they were heading downhill....
I used to follow the sweet sixteen back when I lived near KU and had the Jayhawks to watch - with friends.

Wow, guess you haven't been following. Kansas is ranked #1. They were the only team to go undeafeated in confrence play, and the Big XII is one of, if not the, strongest confrence this year.
Guess I could have just gone over to espn or somewhere and looked it up.
#1 eh? Wow. Only problem now is if I root for them, am I one of those bandwagon fans? You know, the ones who only root for the winning team?
Nah, I guess not. KU basketball was pretty much the only basketball I ever watch.
Well, I did win tickets to a Harlem Globetrotters game when I was a kid...

They were down by 7 to Washington at the half, but they've tied it up midway through the second. Tougher game than expected, tho
I can't see why Oregon is ranked that high......and expected to get a 2 seed. They might lose to Washington.
I'll have to see the bracket before I make a Final Four prediction. I always print out a bracket after the selection show and fill it out.
Keep an eye on those teams I listed.
Mine would be two years ago. Three 10 seeds (Gonzaga, Creighton, and somebody else) all made it to the sweet sixteen and I predicted them all correctly!
I came in 700 sometin place out of eighty some thousand entries in the espn.com contest.

Hey, the Hawks actually showed up for the Big 10 tournament. The win against Wisconsin was amazing. I don't know why they couldn't have played like this during the Big 10 season.

I actually was thinking that the might have a chance, just given the talent on the team. Luke Recker stays hot, and hey, they might actually win the Big 10 tournament (and screw Virginia in the process)
No nno no...Iowa needs to get beat. No freaking upsets in conference tournaments. Butler and Southern Illinois deserve to dance, and will make some noise if they do.
I had Gonzaga & Creighton right too.

I think Butler and SIU have less to worry about than Virginia, but we'll see on Sunday. And I got Utah State right last year, so ha!
