Indiana Hoosiers can eat it! Looks like Recker got the last laugh.

I actually was thinking that the might have a chance, just given the talent on the team. Luke Recker stays hot, and hey, they might actually win the Big 10 tournament (and screw Virginia in the process)

UConn plays Pittsburgh tonight for the Big East tournament championship. We'll see how they do in the NCAAs. I'm thinking Kansas or Maryland wins all the marbles though. Or maybe after they've finished leaving a trail of smoking destruction through their tournament we can have the UConn women come over and kick the arses of whoever wins the men's tournament.
Wow, what a game. Ohio State beats Illinois to earn a spot in the Big Ten Tournament Championship. I love the way this team is just that, a team. No huge stars or anything, just a bunch of hard working guys who play well as a team and play with a ton of heart. I really think they will have some magic in store for the field of 64.
Also, my Bearcats won the C-USA tournament championship today. They pretty much handed it to Marquette. Very good defensive effort. Who would've thought this Cincy team would be this good? I honestly didn't. they have made their case now for a #1 seed.
Pac 10 championship is on now. I think USC will win. Look out for the Trojans in the tournament, they are dangerous. Sam Clancy is also from C-Town (as well as his HS teammate Steve Logan). I think USC is a major threat for anyone.
Maryland got upset today in the ACC semis, by NC State. Wake had a chance against Duke but let things slip away in the end there.
Less than 24 hours till the bracket is all filled out!! I am pumped!!
About Marquette, I expected the game today vs. Cincy to be a very good & close game. I still think Marquette is very dangerous and could pull off a few upsets to make it to the Final Four. Who knows.
This is such a damn screw up on the selection comittee's part. The field is just messed up.....they got a lot wrong and some things right. Let's start with the wrong. Gonzaga is given a 6 seed. WTF is that? What do the Zags have to do to prove themselves? They were ranked 6th in the nation according to the AP!! This team is no longer a cinderella, they are a Final Four team. Absolutely ridiculous that they get anywhere lower than 4. Other screw ups? Not putting butler, Ball State, and Bowling Green in. Butler goes 25-5, is ranked in the Top 25 at different stages during the year, and has beaten some good teams. They lose in the Horizon and all of a sudden it doesn't matter. This team would've been scary in the dance. And about strength of schedule...it's bull because nobody wants to play a Butler. Absolutely insane that the 6th place teams in the Big 10, SEC, Big 12, whatever can get in over this basketball team. How bout Ball State? They beat Kansas and someone else that slips my mind! To top it off the MAC is a strong conference. Bowling Green should've gotten in with 20 something wins and a trip to the conference finals. Kent State a 10 seed? Pulease, they are threat to just about everyone in this tournament. Western Kentucky a 9 seed? Get real, this team can play (ask tubby Smith). UK is too high, so is UConn.
I'm happy about OSU getting a 4 seed but I don't understand shipping them out west after they won the Big Ten tourney. And if we're going with Big East winners getting 2 seeds, then OSU deserves that (not that I truthfully believe OSU is a 2).
Oregon is vastly overrated. Look for Pepperdine to bounce them in the second round. My cinderella is Southern Illinois. This team can flat out play and beat Indiana. they also took Illinois to the wire.
I don't understand these pod systems. This tournament seems like a screw up with pods seedings and excellent teams getting ignored on selection sunday.
Hmm, kinda indecisive on some of my picks. I think I need to know whether Brandin Knight of Pitt is healthy in order to figure out how far the Panthers will go. Without him I don't think they will go anywhere. Central Connecticut could very well pull off the upset. Also, Hawaii-Xavier is tough. I like Xavier simply because they are from Ohio. But Hawaii could pull off the upset.
Tiger: Don't underestimate Oregon. They won the strongest conference by a full two games, and they can play with any team in the country. They're lightning quick, and they can shoot the lights out.
But in my mind, Maryland is the most balanced team in the country. They're strong, they're quick, they can shoot, they can defend, and Steve Blake is the only player I've seen who can shut down Jason Williams.
Edit: On the Brandin Knight/Pitt thing, I'm not sure it matters. When Cal is on, teams don't score on them. Best defense in the Pac-10
You oughta trust me on the Pac-10 teams, I've been watching them all year. Don't let the east bias cloud your picks. Oregon wasn't pretending when they swept Arizona, USC, and UCLA during the regular season (and they smacked Arizona upside the head and beat UCLA by 30)
I won't go as far as saying Oregon completely sucks, but they have come out of nowhere. Pretty much the main reason I like them to get upset is just a gut feeling. I do not think they are a 2 seed, and I really feel like Pepperdine will pull the upset. I just think it will happen.
Pac-10 I have USC as a real dangerous team. they might give Duke a good game like they did last year, but this USC team isn't as good. They still have Clancy, Granville, Bluthenthal, but Trepagnier and Scalabrine are gone. Arizona vs. Gonzaga is a really intriguing 2nd round matchup, one that could be a Final Four game. I feel it will be a good game, but just don't see Arizona doing it. Gonzaga is for real now.
As far as going out on a limb and making a gutsy call, I think I'm gonna do it. I feel that Kansas will choke in the tourney, losing to a very good Western Kentucky squad. You heard it here first. I'm going to do it. Western Kentucky in the Final Four.
Ahhh this is killing me!!! I need to watch these games, but I need to find a way! I have school damnit. I'm considering skipping class but then I'd have to try and call myself in....hmm. Wait a second...my parents are going away tonight. So theoretically I could come home after 6/7 and catch all the action. I gotta see these damn games! Damn me and my love for college basketball and the NCAA tourney! I don't have a portable TV either, but I am going to try and ask my friend across the street if he has one I can borrow. I don't wanna miss class yet I only really have last period that I would have to miss to the games. 8 & 9 are free periods...my house is close...but then I'd have to come back for 10th. Hmm.

Salukis got game.
Big deal, so did I. Who cares about Virginia. I want mid-majors.

Apparently my Gauchos got game too! One more upset, and we're in the field of 65. Hell yeah!

Iowa won again? Crap did OSU play yet?

Recker hit the last 5 points of the game, including a floating jumper that left his hand with .1 seconds on the clock, to beat Indiana by 2 points.
I believe OSU beat Illinois 94-88. Big Ten championship game is at 2:30 tomorrow.

It's March Madness afterall.
Santa Barbara is in the same conference as Utah State right? if so, don't look for them to get the bid. Good luck though.

I can hope. I've seen utah state play, and they're quite good, and we're really inconsistent. But, tune into ESPN at 9 pacific, and we'll see.
OSU beat illinois
