137 on latest webkit compared to 142 for chrome (plus ogg and acc support for chrome).
It would be higher if it had OGG/MP3 support, but then again Video source is the actual test, not the script where the designer of HTML5Test decided to include what types of video containers it has as part of the overall score.
Flash 10.1 beta and/or Click2Flash is causing Safari 5 to crash continuously for me; at least when I go to the AT&T iPhone page which has a central Flash content element (oh, the irony!)
UPDATE: Turns out it is another plugin (SplashID) which among other things requires Safari to be run in 32-bit mode. Once I removed the plugin and switched Safari 5 to 64-bit, there has been no problems w/ Flash pages, so far.
Cripes! Safari 5 is really, terribly slow on my MacPro. Pages that were opening in split-seconds with 4.0.5 only a few minutes ago are now taking several seconds with the update. Something is very wrong.

Ogg Theora is worth 5 points and each of the Mp3, Ogg Vorbis and AAC are worth 2 points each. We kow Apple won't support any Ogg codecs and it seems none of the other audio codecs are getting love. Their reasoning likely has to do with the OS or QT handling them better, but who knows, maybe the test is bad.
Here are the all tests that they don't pass...
Video(Safari 5 doesn't support this, but Chrome 5 does)
Ogg Theora codec support
Audio(Safari 5 doesn't support these, but Chrome 5 does)
MP3 codec support
Ogg Vorbis codec support
AAC codec support
Text-level semantic elements
time element
Forms
autocomplete input attribute
list input attribute (Chrome 5 doesn't support this, but Safari 5 does)

Just tested it out. No tabs on top ...
Thank god!
"Released"?
I've got it purring on my 10.5.8 Powerbook.

the reader mode is interesting.
I have to admit, I like it. Clutter free. Does need video support, though.

Waaaahh? At least give me a choice, I don't like part of my screen to disappear for tabs.
136/160 on http://html5test.com/
143/160 here... Safari 5 on Snow Leopard...
strange it is not sold as a feature
Safari 5: 295.8ms +/- 0.8%
Chrome 5: 337.8ms +/- 2.6%
No WebGL even though it has been in webkit for a while.

I agree. Give me the choice. I like them better on top. More usable and more options.
Ugly same Top Sites UI is not. Subtle, with white background, Apple. Think Genius Mixes in iTunes.

What extra test(s) is it passing?
Great update.
Holy crap, this is fast (is it the DNS prefetching that is speeding things up?)! And the progress bar is back.
Great update.
I am glad to see the blue progress bar's return. Seems slower though. Also Reader is not available in 10.5.8.
Progress bar has always been a PLIST option.
