I remember when I started coming here (over two years ago: January 2000), the site was black with turquoise accents.

And they always had a fairly active front page, talking about a 17" iMac (CRT, mind you) or "a rumored Apple retail chain".

Before then, I have no idea what the place was like.

Nick (Rampage) and I registered on the same day. Damn! I forgot to make an anniversery thread for the second year in a row.

On March 1st, I became a 3 year member...I registered March 1 1999. Wow...to think how much AI has changed. It has gotten a *lot* smaller since 2000, but quite a bit larger than it was when I registered.

I orignanlly registered mid 2000 I think...maybe a little bit before then. I think I caught the last spurt of life from the front page...in that I watched it go from having a few stories a week(or at least headlines), to maybe one story a week, then like one a month MAYBE and the nothing

and DAMN! I just passed some gas, and it reaks....

I first registered in Jan. of '00. I remember Reality from MacNN but I didn't know that there was a forum until Jan. '00.

    Wasn't paying enough attention.

Bondi/Turquoise always has been the nastiest looking color.

I originally registered in late 98, and then was re-registered in March of 99 when my account went crazy and Mark 'fixed' it.

As for the front page, when Apple shut off the rumor valve, AI went dead. Worker Bee was the last 'true' source.

I joined in June 99 (waaaay back then.)

I remember the black and turqoise look, I didn't like it either. But all the interesting stories they published, they usually updated a couple times a week, and each update had a couple stories.

Kasper and later Jeff who are/were the writers used to post and sometimes join the digichat.

I registered back in Feb. of 2000. I'd been lurking around the forums for a little while before I registered. I first found AI from a link at MacNN.

I registed sometime around June/July 1999. My first post was asking people for help to my (well, not mine anymore) god damned ORB drive....

All I remember was that the board was in black and dark grey.....

I miss Mark by the way....

you said "I doubt anyone here knows what that was..." after I had already said "I remember Reality from MacNN but I didn't know that there was a forum until Jan. '00."

    Read carefully.

The board was never in black and grey from what I remember. Bondi and black though.

Mark was the greatest. He enlightened me to Silicon Alley way back when...ahh. I also miss Goatie.
