LOL. That was funny. I beileve the Droid phones only run a Flash Lite. Clealy HTC is hearing people are upset with the battery life because they have already come out with an extended batter that boosts battery life 15-20%, and its the same size as the current battery.
The Evo is really the only Android phone that have liked so far if it had a decent battery life I really wouldn't be able to find much wrong with it.
The iPhone I believe is still the best smartphone but the Evo and the Incredible have narrowed the gap. Neither are going to be a failure and both are selling out rather fast. Evo for Sprint and Incredible for Verizon. The Moto Droid just really doesn't do anything for me at all and I don't understand why Google hasn't pushed the Nexus One more. I mean that should be their flagship phone.
RIM and Windows Mobile phones really need to catch up or they truly are doomed compared to Apple and Android.
Android is Apple's main competitor, and vice versa, so news on either is interesting and relevant to both.
What, do you think I am holding AI to a double standard or something? Honestly, I am fairly neutral about Android websites posting iPhone news or Apple sites posting Android news (yeah I know I am contradicting what I said above) since it may be interesting to people who like to stay in the loop. That said, there is a difference between reporting rumors from sources in an objective way (not counting the whole "Android > iPhone" at the very end) and finding a marketing blunder and piling on every negative thing said about Android into one article. That's not journalistic integrity. It's blatant fanboyism, something that I wouldn't expect from a website that presents itself as an online news publication.

First off, it's just one marketing mistake. In regards to Sprint and HTC marketing it as 4g, it is a 4g phone whether the radio in it is the highest bandwidth capacity or not. And no shit it drains the battery. Remember the very first 3g chips? They did the same thing. And from what I understand the video chat issues with the EVO were problems with Qik. Nobody is falsely advertising anything and to say otherwise is absolute insanity.
My points were all of the company's have parts built and used by their competition. Apple, HP, DELL, GATEWAY uses batteries built by SONY. They all use products built by ATI, NVIDIA, INTEL and AMD. Also, companies reign for awhile until someone else comes along and bring them down with a better product right now APPLE is reigning. There will be someone to bring them down also. Here are some examples: DELL brought down by HP, IBM brought down by Microsoft, APPLE brought down by Microsoft (Software and PC side), AT&T brought down by the GOVERNMENT, KMART brought down by by WALMART, PALM and RIM brought down by and being brought down by APPLE. If you like IPHONE; good, if you like ANDROID; good. The same for WEBOS and WINMOBILE/WINPhone 7. The only ones who really benefit are the aforementioned companies. So, none of these phones would be possible if it was not for the real phone innovator AT&T (Alexander Graham Bell and that is also debatable. History states that he made it to the patent office first.). I benefit from APPLE and MICROSOFT because I have money invested in both. Lets be honest PALM was the better innovator before Google and Apple they just became stagnant and lost out to Microsoft and they lost to RIM and now they are losing to Nokia and possibly Apple and Google. Another example the WII would would have thought that was going to have any chance against the XBOX and PLAYSTATION.
Also, by the way I have and EVO and the battery life does not suck I have been getting 12 to 17 hours of usage with normal use surfing 3G and 4G, texting, playing music and watching videos. The person that said his EVO gets 1 to 2 hours is a liar and and I would bet he doe not have and EVO. People both platform have good and bad things about them, buy what you like.
Also, the DroidBots all over the interwebs were using the Droid X's awesome 720p to piss over the Apple fanbois who got scammed into buying the iPhone's Retina screen, which according to this "mistake" was not going to be the best screen within a month.
I am curious about one thing though. When I made the move to the iPhone from a dumbphone I found it slightly too big, especially when holding it up to my ear (am an average sized male). How do these 4.3" devices feel?
This was brought up in a different thread. It is slightly larger, but I don't think it is terribly so. About 1/4" longer and 1/8" wider than the 3GS. The difference against the 4 will be slightly more pronounced, but to me, it would seem that the larger screen would be worth the marginal size increase. I think it's a 16:9 screen too, good for those that want to use a phone to watch a lot of videos.

The size increase, as you state them, make seem inconsequential and if I hadn't' held one I might be in agreement with you. However, I have and the size and weight difference is quite profound in one's hand.
It's not very comfortable to hold compared to smaller phones. I recall the original iPhone also had this issue as people who had never considered or used a smartphone were trying them out for the first time. Perhaps it's something people can get used to, but I think the original iPhone was about the max for a comfortable handheld and pocketable device and think the EVO 4G has exceeded that size due to the 4.3" display for many people.
Wow. What a harsh opinion article. Clearly trying to brush away all the good things Android does do. Do you really think that the iPhone 4 would have as many new innovations as it does if Android wasn't pushing Apple to innovate to keep up or maintain their edge (depending on the feature we are discussing). Poorly written article and argument in my opinion.
All I can say is as long as the iphone is exclusive to AT&T, Android will always have a way to bring the iphone down. Sorry. Bash Android all you want, its still a viable platform and its good for the smart phone market. Competition is always a good thing.
However, this article is a lousy excuse for journalism. The motivation, and clear partisanship of the content is absurd.
I agree that the subject matter shoe-horned into the article is absurd. I also agree that the very premise of the article - a marketing typo - is a thin reed upon which to grasp.
Thank you, but I'll continue enjoying my soon-to-arrive iPhone4 to replace my original iPhone2g. Not only is/will it be a stunning example of hardware engineering, it will also (continue to) be a great example of how to correctly design a mobile operating system.
We're all proud of you. Your choice of phone makes us have more respect for you.

a typo would be "720i" instead of "720p". it's more like false advertising and apple's competition left grasping in the wake of iPhone 4's 'retina display'.
Only a fool will fall for an Android phone. It is the biggest mess since the Windows PC. So many phones running different versions of the same software. It is like being on a ship with no captain.
Are you saying that 90+% of desktop users are fools? They use Windows.
And some people like to be the captain of their own cellphone, err, ship. Others like a benevolent leader to make their decisions for them. Different strokes for different folks.

Or, if you plan to run Flash, you could get this battery:

Pity those who saw the ads and jump to buy the phone and at the end found its not what it is! That hurts!
Is it even out yet. I don't think it is because Verizon is offering a BOGF on the current Droid.
Oh yes! A typo in an ad - wow. What a great story! And you compare all this to what? iPhone 4 marketing. That's called journalism I guess...
That's a pretty big "mistake" for a "typo". That's called false advertising, I guess.
And what does this article on a Droid web site have to do with Android?

Yikes.
I love it!
Only on AI can an advertising typo spawn a 2 page sycophantic rant to the Apple gods.
I love it!
now if apple made the same mistake, how many pages would that generate at engadget etc?
So many phones running different versions of the same software. It is like being on a ship with no captain.
It's a bit like the French World Cup Squad then :P
so, tell me what does the iphone do apart from the apps you have to download? Where is the integration?

Yea take that Google!
It seems that Android is always a new phone away from obliterating the iPhone.
Keep your shirt on. The iPhone will never be obliterated. You need have no fear of that.

I dint think for a second it was an accident.
It MUST be some kind of conspiracy!

Have you noticed that simple mistakes made by corps are always to their advantage. For example, BP: spilling 1K barrels per day.
Motorola = BP?
Really?
EDIT: I think the biggest thing here is the question of what this has to do with Apple or AT&T.
Steve has said nasty things about Google. He has declared Google to be "our enemy".
Therefore anything that involves Google or any of its mobile products is clear click-bait on this site. That is what it has to do with Apple.
