I had the issue described and it WAS my 2Wire U-Verse Wireless G modem/router combo. I exchanged it for a new one and now it works fine. Haven't had an issue since. Also tested it out on the dual band Apple Extreme router for about a week and had no issues either.

Uh. How bout I fix your bug -- Try right swiping the item you want to remove from the list/menu. Voila! A magic delete button appears. Tap that and the item is gone. (At least this works on my iPhone 3G iOS 4 and my iPad iOS 3.2.)

They're having such a hard time building enough iPads already, they wouldn't want to do anything to abrupt the manufacturing process until they're rolling out a new version altogether. That's my theory, anyway.

That's pretty well what I meant.

    Thanks, I'll try that.

The 'official' way of doing it doesn't work for me:

    1. Open your browser.

    2. Tap the bookmark icon.

    3. Tap edit.

    4. Then tap the red circle next to the bookmark you want to delete.

    5. Tap the delete button.

I never get the edit option.

You don't get the little edit button on the left side of the bottom toolbar?

iPad iPod iPhone = iFUD - not necessarily relevant - just occurred to me along with BP = Been Polluted but that is even less relevant.

Make sure you are actually in the Bookmarks screen and not the History screen.

When I open Safari, if I have nothing in the cache, it opens up my History screen. Or, if I open an empty page and click the Bookmarks tab, it drops me into my History screen.

So see if you have a back arrow titled "Bookmarks" in the top left. If so, hit that and it will take you to the actual Bookmarks screen. On that screen, on the bottom left should be an Edit button.

iOS4 needs, to make the iPad usable in my business, to enable wireless printing and access to network drives. I can only hope that someone at Apple has also figured out that these two items would sell a load more iPads

You can do wireless printing now. Apple doesn't yet directly support it. But, several printer manufacturers have free apps for Apple iOS devices to print directly to their WiFi printers. In addition, there are a number of apps from I believe free, to about $12.99 that allow you to wirelessly print, and manage your files as well. But Jobs did indicate that we would get some sort of direct printing, wireless or not, I don't know.

Ok, I got it now. I hit the History button and then it changed to Bookmarks and the Edit button was there.

In response to your post, I just tried it.

When you tap the bookmarks icon, and the bookmarks come up, you can swipe to the right on a bookmark, and a red "delete" rectangle comes up. Tap on that, and the bookmark is deleted. This was posted before by someone. I'm not sure why it isn't working for you.

When I tap the "bookmarks at the top left of the screen, it takes me back until I get to the 1st screen, which lists all of the possibilities. In that screen, "History" is the top folder. If I click on that, I open the History folder, and then I have "Bookmarks" on the top left again, "Done" on the top right, and "Clear" at the bottom left.

Click Bookmarks again, and you're back where you started at the base screen. You can't delete 'History, Bookmarks Bar, or Bookmarks Menu, but by right swiping, you can delete any of your OWN folders, just as you can any individual bookmark. This is on a 3G with iOS 4. I don't have the new phone yet, though I don't imagine it working differently.

On my iPad with 3.2, it's a bit different because of the big screen.

If I tap back to the base screen, and go into "History", I see Bookmarks again at the top left, and Clear History at the top right. "on" is accomplished by taping on the screen out of the bookmarks pop-up, as are most things on the iPad. Move back to base screen, and again, you're presented with the Bookmarks on the top left, and "Edit" again at the top right.

I just checked my wife's phone with 3.1.3, and it looks like mine. When in the History folder, she sees what I described. nothing I can do will make them look they way yours does.

From what you are saying, you are in the history folder now. Have you tried to tap the history button on the left? Or tried to tap the Clear one?

I dont know what else to say here.

Well, now that I've posted all of that, I see you figured out. Too bad I didn't get to your next post. Oh well, I tried.\

Why not an iOS update to take care of known bugs on the iPad like the repeated prompting for my home wifi password? Entering and re-entering a 26 character password multiple times a night has a high "piss off" factor. The longer Apple ignores this bug the more annoyed I get with Apple. Suddenly things don't seem so "magical."

I always thought Apple was supposed to be on the side of the user. I guess that was all hype.

I don't think it's your iPad, dude. Check your internet connection. I myself and others never have that problem.

I was under the impression that agencies would be completing the creative and HTML5 programming for iAds.

    This article says:

'Apple is doing "all the technical production of iAds, and telling agencies it will take six to eight weeks to produce an ad after the creative is produced," the report stated.'

Can someone confirm that Apple will be doing all the programming for iAds?
