In a historical sense, Christianity is a plague upon mankind if we're going to use this kind of benchmark to measure Scientology with.

Millions upon millions of deaths can be attributed to Christians for the cause of Christianity.

What's the problem with Scientology again? Something about money?

THAT, my friends, is why these religion bashing threads are stupid.

Religious discussion threads are all well and good, but there IS a difference.

Yes i agree, according to these standarts christianity use to be bad but with great exception (does not throw the baby with the water of the bath). But christianity have change a lot and especially the roman catholic church (if you where speaking of it , Groverat).

And my opinion about scientology is a personnal one make by the experience of a very near people. When this people (won't say who he or she is because it's personnal) first mean the Scientologist it was not written : you enter in the scientologist church, it was say here an assocition where we deal of psychologie. This people was a fan of psychologie and then he came in, he make some tests and then they gave him a book about dianetic (this story is old, so sorry if there is little confusions in the details) after a while, they ask him to go into a seminar of initiation for 500 $ approximatively : this people was pennyless, so they ask him to do some works for them , a works of educator for the beginners and they ask him to sign an abusive contract saying that he need to give an incredible time of work to the organisation. At this point this people was still ignoring that he was in the scientologist church even if they where some reference to it via books. When we learn him, that he or she was in the scientologic church he went mad and leave it. The people of the church where upon him or her during many years, until he or her change of home. And i have ear similars stories coming from others people but less near. So i have not a good opinion of the scientologic church : sorry for that.

I will add that i have never participate to any bashing threads about religions : bashing religions is not my favorite sport. I prefer others sports perhaps as stupid but more fun

Religion. I think it was based on the word ?rely?.

1.To be dependent for support, help, or supply:

2.To place or have faith or confidence:

It's not wrong to talk about religion, as matter in fact, it can be quite an interesting subject to talk about, people have been talking about religion for years, decades, centuries, millenias, and so on.

The problem is that... Now... Everytime we talked about religion, someone always tied it with a negative value.

People are scared to talk about religion, people are scared to talk about God. Fearing that... The whole conversation might go into an unpleasant manner. Fearing that if they might go upset due the negative atmosphere, and then some person come up and accused them of not being able to accept the opinion of other.

Folks... What's wrong here, what's wrong today? Why can't we talk about religion? For the answer on that, feel free to do some introspection on one's each religion, the answer is there.
