It's never a good idea to go with a .0 release and since 4.2 is the first release for iPad of iOS 4 and who knows how reliable AirPlay will be or if AirPrint will even work, I think it is best if we all skip this update and wait for 4.3. Let's not be the guinea pigs here.
Interestingly enough Apple has been using the term "golden master" to describe release candidates since the early 90s so nothing has changed.
Key word is "candidates" as in there is the distinct and explicit possibility it will not be released. There is a reason the GM's are distributed to BETA TESTERS before they are released to the public. If Apple was not willing to hold a release back and make changes, why have a beta?

Hey, the French had to be on the winning side of something.
Don't forget the French Revolution, in which they soundly thrashed themselves.

Issues with Safari, settings app etc, network dropouts and more.
Couldn't find my copy of the first 4.2 GM so went back to 4.1
Will wait for next beta or final release before updating again.
What do they call what the "Royals" speak?
A waste of time.
