Trust me I know, I have to support many different mobile platforms & Android is often a buggy mess on many brands. HTC is about the only brand I think that really rocks, Droid from Verizon being one of the worst.
By the way, KIA sold about 10x the number of cars this year than porsche did, doesn't make a KIA better than a porsche.
There's always a ton of posts just like yours on these threads. iPhone repeatedly wins 1st in screen quality tests among mobile phones and as for HDMI, who the heck cares (as if any of us are plugging our iPhones into the TV to watch HD). As for DLNA, yeah I'm sure you're running into the possibility to use that a lot. Course if that's a feature you kinda like you can also do AirPlay with iPhone. Screen size is really a preference thing & has nothing to do with how good a phone is, personally I don't want a huge phone in my pocket, so sue me. Hardware specs also don't mean much and beefier parts often suck the battery right out of a phone. It's a shame that there are still people that don't understand it isn't about raw CPU power but about system optimization & software. Retina Display vs Super AMOLED is a complete wash, most tech blogs cant even pick a definitive winner. I have lots of hands on time with both as close friend has an iPhone 4 and i find the screen on my Galaxy S to be better cause its bigger and the colors and blacks are much better. If i were comparing my old Evo to an iPhone 4 screen fidelity wise, the iPhone 4 would win hands down.

If I was trying to make a 1:1 comparison then yes the porsche kia comparison doesn't fit. I was only making a point that you can't write off raw sales as a win. Me personally I'm more of a jeep kinda guy, I have no need for awesome speed but I do a lot of camping & pulling people out of ditches come winter.
As far as Android support goes, we'll just have to concede we have totally different experiences. More than likely it is environment, but since we run an Exchange e-mail system & a Cisco AP network I think we're pretty average in our environment for businesses. Our last big issue we faced was that one of the Android updates broke WPA encryption with cisco networks (as well as many home networks). Our poor Android users were forced to use our web authenticated guest network to get any internet inside our building (we don't have repeaters).
As far as HDMI goes, I don't think I'm going to cary around an HDMI mini to HDMI full cable considering cost, I would rather opt for the $15 composite connection so I can stream netflix to my friends TV. I will say this though, it's an outrage that Apple charges $30 for their own cable to make this possible, don't waste your money folks as you can find alternatives out there.
I'll concede that maybe more people use NDLA than I thought, you just gave me yet another reason to want a PS3 but I'd say it's probably still used very little by the average person. Yes AirPlay is new & not yet fully developed but with AppleTV running iOS it's a pretty safe bet that platform will be expanding, especially since Apple has submitted more than one patent regarding gaming systems over the years.

Those who sacrifice battery for function often remorse about it all the time. Nokia even did a survey 2-3 months ago and battery was the number one concern among those who returned the survey. For me, well I've forgotten my power adapter on more than one occasion & knowing that my iPhone can often last for 2-3 days depending on use is a huuuuge plus for me, especially since I'm realistically on call 24/7. Add to that the fact I've gotten an increase in battery life in the last 2 major upgrades of my phone I am definitely happy with my iPhone. If you think battery isn't a big deal I challenge you to look into it, I think you'll find you are among the minority in this regard & not the majority.
Thus, my guess is that the typical male Android user gets his new toy, spends a little time admiring the "customizability" while looking at various settings screens, and then never really does anything with it again beyond the basics. However, he takes great satisfaction in knowing that he could muck about to his heart's content, should he ever want to...
But what's good about these customizations is that the app developers take advantage of it a lot. And the vast majority of them don't require you to root your phone. Just enable a feature in the particular app you got and it works. So in essence, the user is using all of these customizations.
One particularly useful feature is the ability to use widgets on the device's lock screen. I have a music player app that puts its controls there so I don't have to unlock the phone first before being able to change tracks. Comes in very handy when I'm using while working out.
