Society tells gay people that they should be ashamed to be who they are. The only way to counter this homophobia is to be proud to be who you are. Now, when it comes to being straight, I have no idea why anyone would want people to know they were straight, much less be proud of the fact. :shudder:

If you jiggle the words around of your first sentance, perhaps you have the answer to your dilemma
"Society tells people that they should be ashamed to be gay" rather than society just tells the gays.
That is why straight people may want to reinforce that fact.
Anyway how many times do I have to read this thread before Leonis comes out. Perhaps someone could just start a thread "Confirmed-Leonis IS gay" when it happens
Well, since Leonis is straight, and since as soon as people around here see the word confirmed, there is no chance in hell that they will believe whatever the thread is about, perhaps Leonis should start that thread. Bye-bye rumors!
It's important because it affects your standing in online fora.
I'm pretty happy, thanks. Sure, I'd change a few things, like working over the July 4th holiday, and I'm between,uh, relationships, but in all I'd say I'm a pretty gay fellow. Not too queer, mind you, but I do have an off-color sense of humor.
no---but i was a theater and dance major for a year in college, so i had many conversations with nice young men who tried to argue with me that i was gay but just didn't know/accept it....i have many gay friends and my brother-in-law is gay....but i am horribly hetero...having the most wonderful wife in the world for 17 years has made that easy....g

family connections are always tough for me to keep "straight" (bad pun , sorry)...my little brother married a very nice young lady, her brother is gay...now she's my sister in law (i think), so he is my brother-in-law?? or maybe he is nothing to me by name, but he is a great guy and i call him my brother-in-law....g

Not that there's anything wrong with that... </Seinfeld voice>

Nuff' said.
One thing, though: We straight people want rainbows back.

Tell you what, maybe we can work out some sort of trade. Like, I don't know, the same rights afforded to other minorities for the rainbow?

Maybe he was referring to his wife's brother instead of his sister's husband?
And what's the point of this thread? To see who's gay? So what? This thread is gay.
