Just because they magazines are going to be on the iPad, doesn't mean the pictorials are included. I find it highly unlikely that Apple is reversing direction on a very rational and passionate decision to not allow adult content.
Those pictorials are so tame. One can see the same thing in a National Geographic magazine or in your art museum in NY!
"'That was a mistake. However, we do believe we have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone. Folks who want porn can buy and [sic] Android phone.

'You know, there?s a porn store for Android,' Jobs said. ?You can download nothing but porn. You can download porn, your kids can download porn. That?s a place we don?t want to go, so we?re not going to go there.'"
The trouble with this statement by Jobs is that while no normal thinking adult would disagree with the sentiment expressed, most of the world does disagree about the definition of the word "porn."
With tons of "mature" content only a Safari click away, this probably is not that big of a story, except for current Playboy subscribers who need their Playboy fix anytime, anywhere.

It would be naive to think that an iPad Playboy app will attract many readers solely with text-based content.
You would think the guys at AI could find out if it's an app first, before "reporting" on the subject.

I saw Hugh's tweet that indicated that ALL content would be available, but not information about whether it would be a full blown app, or a webapp (sorry for the pun ). I would be surprised if it was an iStore app, but I guess if it is subscription based, it might be possible. That would keep Apple from "providing porn to children" but still allow adults to use their iDevice how they want.
Simply Beach was reinstated a few days after it was rejected.
If I am not mistaken, Playboy is one of many mags that are sealed in stores in Canada, UK, Australia,?
I know one thing. My wife banned Playboy and Penthouse in our home when our son was born.
That ban should be lifted when he turns 13. There's a lot worse things out there for him, and he'll probably find them, or be shown them by a friend, very easily around then. Just my opinion.
Steve's only gone one day and then this happens....
My thoughts exactly. I think he has been gone longer than we know, as in maybe starting the with the holidays and Apple manipulated Wall Street so as not to mess with yesterday.
Playboy magazine is usually tastefully done is my point.
I'd agree, in another age Playboy's content would have been painted on canvas with a few cherubs added in and hung in the Vatican. It's funny what is considered offensive at times.

This makes sense since the iPad, iPhone, and iPod all can be held easily with one hand.

Don't forget to protect your Apple equipment, use a screen protector as a precaution!

For most of the world:
- nudity is not porn
- topless women is not porn
- girls in bikinis/underpants is not porn

It's not the Wall Street Journal.

Emphasis on the articles, so don't get your hopes up.
Made by Playboy but not the magazine you get in the stores, but using a lot of the articles you get in the printed magazine.
My rule of thumb is: If it's "hard" ..... it's porn ...
WOW! Lol!!! So waking up in the morning is porn.
Playboy magazine is usually tastefully done is my point.
How do you define tastefully done? That's so subjective.
I read about this a couple of weeks ago. It talked about it being basically articles only and pics with no nudity.

I think things are changing.
Incidentally, I initially mis-read the name of the person Hef replied to. I read it as hugem......

The best evidence yet that he's not coming back.

A bit of a stretch to call Playboy "mature" content, no?
Waiting, with bucket of popcorn, for the Droidtards to chimp-scream "See? The App Store has porn too!"
