xXx is a great movie! *some spoilers

Triple X has a great story, and plenty of action.. The stunts are awesome, and well integrated into the movie. It's not just a stunt/sfx fest. It can be compared to the James Bond series (theres even a Q-like character who is xXx's gadget man, but no Bond girls, although there are plenty of beautiful women ..) xXx is a spy like 007, but he has his own character and his own style.. Bond wouldn't rail slide down three flights of stairs on a silver platter.. Sam Jackson is pretty good as xXx's boss, and he shows some of his rowdy self in the movie... The action starts at the very beginning and doesn't stop.. This is the best movie yet of the summer (I haven't seen AP3 so I can't compare)

Best line in the movie goes to xXx: "slap me again and I'mma throw you a beating!!"

Go see this flick!!

Just saw it last night and I couldn't agree more! It had some awesome eye candy and the story line was great and well performed. The action is very well integrated and I would definitely call it an action/comedy as I laughed quite a few times.

I personally cannot decide if this was better than "Fast and the Furious" as they are equally good in their own ways, yet so different. The movie would have been worth twice what I paid and I definitely beleive it is the best movie to come out this year!

I just can't wait to see "One Shot" with Marshall Mathers (Eminem) as I think that just might give "xXx" a run for it's money.

    Huh? One Shot? Don't you mean <a href="http://www.apple.com/trailers/universal/8_mile/"; target="_blank">8 Mile</a>?

I expected myself to hate it coming into the movie. The people I sat around didn't make it feel any worse. I had somebody's styrofoam food holder land on my shoulder at the beginning of the flick and some hombre sitting next to me macking out with his chick.

But xXx was incredibly enjoyable. I recommend it!

    Triple X spoilers?

"Vin Diesel flexed his muscles and the movie sucked dogballs."

    It's spoiled!

I'd rather rip out my internal organs with a tuning fork, but thanks for offering.

Everyone who saw The Fast & The Furious knowing what it was going in are to be summarily executed when I am king.

I'm sure it's better than Master of Disguise, but it's a continuation of this rap-rock/extreme sports trend that really really really needs to die as soon as possible.

i am terribly disappointed! no porno has ever spent so much time w/ a plot...

    What trend is that?

    Top movies this weekend:

XXX, Signs, Spy Kids 2, Austin Powers 3, Blood Work, The Master of Disguise, Road to Perdition, Martin Lawrence Live, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Stuart Little 2, Men in Black II, K-19.

Er... I don't see any trend. In fact xXx is the only movie on that list that qualifies as an 'Xtreme' anything. And the music is mostly Rammstein type stuff, not rap, but you knew that, right?

I only see one other upcoming extreme sport movie, and that's Blue Crush. Considering this the summer blockbuster season, I don't think 2 movies of these ilk really give you a right to bitch.

Even Bond skis down slopes, drives powerboats, races down windy mountain roads from time to time. If you're looking for a trend, it started in the 60s with Dr. No.

xXx was much more entertaining than the Dalton and Brosnan era Bond movies. I doubt you could walk away from xXx and truthfully say you weren't entertained.

Porno? Joking about the title? Diesel and Argento kiss twice. *gasp*

all movies suck these days. occasionally theres one that stands out as decent (signs, bourne identity, minority report, etc), but overall its only about special effects and "nonstop action." its quantity over quality. people are too easily amused these days and crappy movies are suddenly "acceptable." like blue crush and swimfan. where do they come up w/ this shit???

Think James Bond. Now take away boredom and blatant sex jokes. Add better stunts. The only part I groaned at in the entire movie involved a bit of superfluous flagwaving.

like i said, quantity at the expense of quality...

our society has such a pathetic attention span, they have to be constantly fed action and special effects. a dialog is now considered "boredom."

okay, I'm not sure what you're saying here.. You think Triple X is a porno with a complicated plot? whatever, you don't have to like it..

The Fast and the Furious sucked, except the cars were sweet.. Triple X should not be compared to FATF at all.. Triple X is more comparable to the latest James Bond films.. IMO it's better than the last two, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is Not Enough.. it never is Mr. Bond,.. it never is..

in conclusion, Triple X is like sex, lots of pleasure and no need for a brain

there is exactly the problem. thank you for saying it for grover. it takes no thought!!! its too simple. movies that require no thought are not quality flicks. they are mindnumbing entertainment for the masses because the average viewer is an imbecile anyway...

yes, im sure its good as a way relax and let yer mind stop working for a couple hours, but that doesnt make it a good movie. its a successful movie, but not a quality one...
