It's like they just took their footage and pushed the fast-forward button. Or artificially increased the frame rate. Grr! OK, I know no one else cares. It just gives this super cheap look to their videos, which are usually top notch.

Anyway, my iPad made it to Alaska from China! Halfway there, buddy!

Damn. Mine's still listed as Hong Kong. We'll see tomorrow.

More on topic, my Smart Cover won't be shipping for a while apparently.

    My guess...

    B.O.M. $2.50

What they cant factor into the price...

Fidgety nerd (me) playing with some cleverly engineered toys and achieving nerdy ocd bliss..$538.

Watching Android Fanboys going apesh*t over iPad's superior specs and "toy" cover...Priceless.

And I really want to see a video on the making of that video.

The blooper reel features Scott Forstall actually lapsing into tongues, before he's shot with a tranquilizer dart while Jonny Ives just laughs and laughs....

My 2 year old niece whines lot less than some of the poster here. The Smart Cover is certainly genius.

    1. I don't like the lines it lives - Slide the cover when opening and the microfiber will pick up the lines

    2. I doesn't protect the back - No kidding! Like Steve said - They spend all the research to make the device skinny and light and people like you want to but added padding to make it thick and heavy! Why? Also are you like using your iPad on gravel?

    3. I see the light come through - Huh? This has auto sleep, so no lights are on when it is on sleep.

    4. I have a leather, what kind of oil should I use to keep it clean - Dude! I am sure any leather protection product would work on this.

Finally, all your iPad2 owners who has all this problem please let me know I am willing you to trade my original iPad with the black case any day.

    READ the article.

And while the new cover fits the previous iPad, it doesn't work with it because that model lacks the magnets that the new cover needs to hold on and snap into place.

If you think the bath cover and the iPad cover have the "almost identical" any of those, then I certainly hope you're not a designer.

The color is a similar hue, but a vastly different shade, and is only one of the many colors of iPod cover available. The folds are totally different. The folds of the bath cover fold in a fan style. The iPad cover folds continuously in one direction. The style is vastly different as well. The bath cover has a consistent thickness at all points, it has no bevels or embossing. It is flat. The iPad cover has a bevel.

You could say they both stole their design from a car windshield cover. The fact is that something that is a folding cover is pretty much going to look like something else that is a folding cover.

The Apple Fanboys (and girls). They need to keep their new shiny toys super shiny so that they can get maxiumum return on eBay when next year's shiny toy appears

I?m the opposite, so I guess I?m not a fanboy. I get rid of my kit as soon as it has no direct utility.

I operate on a tight budget. I was using that PowerBook into the new millennium. Not much of a resale value at that point and besides, by then it was a part of the family. If I had the money (or the need) to update as often as others, I suppose I might see things differently...

    .

I just got my iPad today, it came a day early! The smart cover came yesterday. I have a leather one and put it on right away, but already there are a couple of scuff marks. I have a leather cleaner/protector that says it works with most aniline leather, but to test it first. Has anyone tried cleaning theirs yet? It is a costly piece, I don't want to ruin it.

Well I for one will not be buying a new case since the old case is totally iPad 2 compatible. Punched a hole with a paper punch for the camera and all else works without modification. The Mic works even though it's under the case side because the sound travels through both holes on each end to it. The speaker is totally legible through the first gen speaker holes. I love my original case and it works just as great with the iPad 2 as it did with the iPad 1.
