SO DO I! Reel to reel movie with audio on reel to reel. He had to man the movie projector and the reel to reel audio to get it right. It was a big operation!
I just have to fly to my step mothers place, rent a small moving van and cart off a bunch of his stuff she doesn't want to hold on to.
Oops, didn't read your post carefully enough Scott. My dad just used his to record his albums (or his friend's albums... he was an early music stealing pioneer).
He's just crank Black Sabbath or Molly Hatchet with his monster rig. Damn, the old man has a better music collection than me. Helps that he had just turned 17 when I popped out. My dad is pretty sure my first word was ****. All his stoner buddies tried to teach it to me. heh heh
i had a skate board with clay wheels...i lost so much flesh due to that thing...you would hit an ant carrying a pebble and the board would stop dead and you would go flying...
we were the first people on our block to get a color tv
i had a bike with a banana seat and a big ol' sissy bar....loved that bike
i had an orginal farrah fawcett poster in my room as a young man (that poster was nipple-rriffic)

I never remembered how terrible her smile was . . . my goodness its strartling to see that now . .
I too remember Suzy Chapstick wow what weird ring that obscure memory brings back . .
and Apple soda . . I even remember the commercials for the apple soda . . with a scientist developing the perfect apple simulated flavor . . . .
Omni . . the extra wide car
everybody had feathered hair
The 'candy man' song
Hr puffinstuff
my brother had a Nerhu jacket!
I remember when long haired guys were radical (I was very young)
but then, when I got of age my friends were called "punk! rockers' and got beat up for it . . . not like now
back then there were a few basic styles and if you stepped out of line drastically you were really ostracized
I'm getting dizzy
I remember when fast foods were just sweeping the country
But
my upstairs neighbor, just before I moved, could remember the first cars, and airplanes, talkies etc. she's over 100 now.
anyway, none of the stuff listed in the first post actually make life any easier
well except spell check and word processing
.... how many papers I agonized over on an old typewriter and multiple bottles of white out!!!!
Growing up with a B/W TV. 5 channels. Going into the closet to tweak the antenna (or else I'd have to crawl up on the roof).
My first computer. TRS80. Basic, and a little Pascal and Fortrand (sp?.) Good times.
Pong. 3 levels. Big ass black box.
Dial phones. Horrific. Girlfriend? Dad? Lover? Who could tell? Pick it up and deal with it.,
Metal tipped lawn darts and wooden Scrabble pieces.
I didn't like Farrah as much as liked the brunette that always showed up on Fantasy Island, but, whatever.
