Because it's true. We would be talking about Bush's record deficits had this latest disaster not shifted the nation's attention.

Is the point of this to simply state the fact that we aren't talking about the deficit now or are you insinuating that bush had something to do with this? Out with it. Enough beating around the bush. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
Like I said, you're an arrogant ass. Where do you get off telling me how to post? I'm noting the convenience of the two events, which should be entirely considerable to open minds. I don't care if it's not appropriate. It's a possibilty that should not be discarded so angrily.

I thought it was VERY CLEAR that I was insuating some kind of connection between not talking about record defecits and this latest terrible, terrible national disaster. My heart goes out to the familes of the victims.
are you? this coming from the person who had tracked and argued every post by another poster for months.
anyways, you're pathetic... and i fear i as a result of your ignorance have taken this thread off a bit.
whatever, it's over.

I'm and ignorant, pathetic asshole. Excellent contributuon. Tell me when conspiracy theories are banned in the posting guidelines. But I'm sure personal attacks are.
The insinuation that the current administration would stoop to the level of creating a national catastrophe to deviate attention from domestic problems ala Wag the Dog times 100 is disgusting. Seriously.

I don't doubt for a second that Bush or the military/industrial complex is above it. I'm not telling anyone to believe that's what happened- that this shuttle catastrophe is a diversion from domestic matters. But I am very aware of what's going right now and the way news of this shuttle disaster is prevailing over talk about record budget deficits. We have lots of members here who think Bush is intentionally starting a war with Iraq for less than honest reasons. It's not that far a stretch at all.
Companies like Boeing, Lockheed-Martin, Raytheon, etc. all get pummeled. Investors become distracted and the economy gets even shittier.
The government is forced to funnel more money into NASA to help sponsor the rapid development of a shuttle replacement, or build another shuttle.
The government has to hire a thousand new FBI agents to help pick up and analyze a zillion pieces of debris, a couple of ribs, teeth, charred torsos lying in a field.
Blowing up the shuttle does nothing to help Bush.
Don't be a sore ass. It's been 2 years since the Bush clone you probably supported lost the election. There's no reason to be petty and reactionary.
God dammit. I'm sorry for offending anyone. I'll leave this thread because I wasn't trying to be hostile, I was trying to just raise a possibility that wasn't discussed.
Equating our government with manufacturing national disasters is obviously not a discussable topic. I'm sorry. I will leave this thread so to not offend anyone else.

You want to discuss it, *take it somewhere appropriate*, like another thread for god's sake.
It's like you walked into a funeral of a burn victim and started a discussion of how they should have taken fire safety classes! Good god, man, grow a brainstem.

Go hijack some other thread.
This is what happens when a shuttle blows up...
