Poor insulation in the loft/attic?

Greetings, the reason nothing is sticking to the roof is because we had sleet not snow. The sleet bounces off the roof rather than stick. We had no snow in Dallas just sleet and rain. The attic has R38 insulation which is R8 greater than the normal R30 most builders use here in Dallas. My home is well insulated. I have lower electric bills than a friend of mine who lives in an apartment that is less than one third the size of my home.
I need some snow. Pesky Gulf Stream. At the moment it's more than 10ºC. x()
Every time I'm tempted to post pictures of my house/computer(s) setup, I realise that I'll have to tidy (stacks of paper/computer components/old computers/notes from university).

It's amazing how cheap the suburbs are. It's like you're being paid to move out of the city.
Of course, I'd take my solidly built and creatively arranged building any day. And because of the location, I literally have not had to drive my car, and therefore insure it, for two years!
Wait a minute, you're stuck in your house because of this?
Funny stuff.
A beautiful home though, despite the snow.

Don't laugh, here in Texas most do not have snow tires. Not to mention it is ice not snow we have here.

keep in mind that this is far from a normal occurrence for this part of the country. we are "lucky" if we see more than 2-4 inches a inches of snowfall a year. we just don't have the road service infrastructure to deal with it all that well when it gets this bad. not to mention, this far worse than anyone was expecting. add to that all the dip-shit people that just don't know how to drive in these conditions and we have quite a little mess on our hands.
Not all suburbs. You can't even touch a 3 bedroom Townhouse for 250k in the philly burbs. However its not as bad as when I lived in Westchester County NY. A small 3 bedroom house with no land, no driveway, no garage and a poor location was half a mil.

in dallas, the further out you are from downtown the more affordable the houses get. i live on the edge of downtown, and it's hard to find a decent 2 bedroom condo, much less a house, for under 200 grand. which is kind of a pisser since i'm in the market for my first house and i want to stay fairly close to this area.
As hard a time as some of the "compassionate" people on here give you, I'm surprised no one made mention of the fact that you were watching...(GASP) Fox News as you and your white male minions were plotting the oppresion of everyone, everywhere.
I can't believe some of these folks are saying a quarter of a million is cheap for living. Of course the Boston folks are saying that but they have the biggest real estate bubble in the U.S. getting ready to "POP"!
I'll have to post some picks of my new house. We are moving into it today. In fact.... gotta get moving again...
Can you say $400 a month house payments?

it's all relative. 250k is by no means cheap, but that buys considerably more house in some parts of dallas than in others is all i was implying. and it looks to be a rather nice house indeed, fellows.
a $400 a month house payment would be nice though. you lucky bastard.

Wow, you're house is really nice. And I can't believe only $250,000. My house is nowhere near as nice as yours and it was $350,000 I think 2 years ago when we got it.

there isn't much snow onthe roof because it isn't much snow!
actually it's all ice and sleat. we got very little snow over the last couple of days, but ice we have a plenty.
