Stephen Barrar state rep of PA wants to ban French wine in his state. He needs to go F*CK OFF. He is a Republican and I am sickened to see how narrow minded he is. I would rather vote for Hillary before this F*CK

Please excuse my harsh language but this guy is nuts.

[quote] "It's a little different," said Pennsylvania state Representative Stephen Barrar, who has asked the state to bar sales of French wine. "For 60 years, America has protected France. And we're tired of their anti-American attitude."

NAZI he is...

This guy makes me sick. If he does not want to buy French wine then he does not have to. Nor does anyone else. To ban it is not acceptable it is WRONG. What is he? a control freak? I think so and I hate control freaks be them terrorists or PA state reps. He needs to get a clue.

Doesn't Cherry Mad Dog 20/20 come from Burgandy?

I agree with Fellowship for once. If people wish to protest French products on their own, so be it. I think it is stupid but whatever. But the situation certainly does not call for govt action to house the French.

Anyway, he is not (primarily) a control freak; he is a political oppurtunist.

You are exactly right COD but I would say he is actually both. This kind of combo is what Hitler was. As groverat noticed I do get a little frazzled with this kind of thing. Not the wine Groverat but rather the danger of such an idea. I do not share this idea of political exploit for all the wrong reasons. Again do I have to say Hitler? I am not saying this guy in PA is a Hitler or would he ever be one but the tactics are in the same camp of ideas that do NOT serve humanity.

Not just that part but I am so amazed by the whole of the Bible. You can not top the Bible. Have no fear I will never propose that all other religious text and books be banned. There is room for all views. Right or wrong by'gosh there is room.

Someone should tell this guy that half the things sold in the USA is made in China, that godless commie nation half way around the globe!

Have to admit, that's pretty dumb. My sister is likely to stay in France for a conference in a couple of moneths, and her ultra-conservative husband wants her to "boycott" France and skip out. Needless to say, this is one decision she's making without his blessing.

    Fellowship,

Amazing how your sig seems to only apply to those who agree with your political agenda.

I don't agree with legislatively banning French products, but should the public wish to not purchase it, more power to them.

What's funny to me about our anger at the French is that we spent a year telling the world that we didn't care if they came along with us, we didn't need them, if they don't vote with us it doesn't matter because we'll do what we want anyway - and then when they don't agree with us we get all pissy.

jccbin, did you read our religious minded friends post?

" If he does not want to buy French wine then he does not have to. Nor does anyone else. To ban it is not acceptable it is WRONG." I think that is pretty clear that individuals can choose to boycott French products if they see fit, O.K ?

Rep. Barrar is the representative for the area my school district is in. Last year, I spent some time watching him speak to kids....classroom by classroom. He is very involved in the community. He is a very decent man.

And by the way, only Congress controls trade with other nations. His bill would be useless.

With all due respect you need to give me a break. You must be joking. My signature is universal but that does not mean in the least that I have to accept political tactics that I see as harm to society. I have a voice and I can state my opinion. That is all I have done. Do I forgive the guy? Sure. Do I agree with the tactic he uses? No.

You liberal view of Christianity somehow reminds me of the guy who stopped raping the women because she started praying. They are both, um...backwards.
