Have we lost the fun of downloading keynotes forever? I've even lost most of the collection I used to have when the links in this thread did work. Anyone fancy some trading or something?
Since MPEG4 came out it seems Apple has a different way to keep their original files on the server. The only way I managed to copy the stream was a rather brute force method.
-Connect the video out from a PowerBook to the video in of a Formac Studio DV.
-Connect the FW output of the Formac to a G4 tower.
-View the Keynote on the powerbook, set it to display full screen on the second monitor (the Formac DV).
-Record the video on the G4 with the shareware program Vidi.
-Compress the resulting file with QT. Result was abot 800MB. I tried DIVX but it was slower and didn't make the file any smaller and it had problems with the sound.
I suppose you could also just record to a VCR but then you wouldn't have a digital format.
If we are unable to download keynotes anymore, we need to get organised better - we need to capture the videos (using a Format Studio or similar means) and then get them shared out on Gnutella etc. A mailing list for those interested in trading would also be nice. There's one or two guys in this thread who would be the obvious ones to start a list or website - guys?
I can't really understand why Apple has gone to extra trouble to secure its streams.
Surely it's in their interest to get the keynotes shown as widely as possible?
The very reason I want this one is to burn to a CD to mail to a friend who doesn't have cable (less common here in Australia than the US)... He would just go crazy seeing the G5 presentation.

Any method of downloading the WWDC 2003 keynote around?

Not quite the answer you want, but Apple does have the streaming keynote up at this link:

I know that. The problem is we are behind a firewall and cannot view streamed media. SO need a .mov file.

click on it and it asks if you have qt 6...this is mw ny 2001
so because you have to click on yes or no to qt 6, it's not the same as the others where you just save as qt movie...come one geniuses

Ok I managed to get mwsf04 now, but mwny01 is a whole different story, I can watch it but not save.
