Glad that you find it all so amusing! Perhaps you weren't referring to my post above, however I believe that one should be discerning all the same. Further, if you were thinking of my post, did I say that I am worried? I use Macs!

No, from my experience they come to Apple fan sites to scream their hate! On their Android fan sites they are too busy discussing how to troubleshot their Androids.

I'm an Apple fan, I read articles on an Apple fan site. But what are YOU doing here?

    Edit later:

Eh, sorry. I thought you were asking me.

Ah but they do. Nearly 50% of any discussion will include comments of how iOS does or does not do this.

Surely the jail break exploits are considered malware, especially one click jail break websites. I would bet that Apple considers these exploits as malware.

Malware means bad or malicious software. If the user is purposely seeking it out and employeeing it's use it's not malware. Whether Apple likes it or not is irrelevant. What all jailbreaks for iOS do is use exploits that Apple works to close when discovered to prevent actual malware from entering, but Android's malware are mostly getting in pretending to be legitimate apps but doing something nefarious the user didn't expect.

They don't have to discuss how much iOS sucks on Android sites, they come here. Which iOS users absolutely do not reciprocate.

iOS users might indulge in a bit of schadenfreude, earned or no, on what is ostensibly a site for Apple discussion (on an internet where Apple discussion is typically shouted down with something approaching racial animosity).

Whereas Android users feel compelled to seek out an Apple site to belittle Apple's users, at length, over and over again.

    Who needs constant reassurance, again?

Before Apple reached the heights that it now enjoys, there was practically none of the conflict on this site that is now witnessed. Says enough I think. \

This is why the iPad (and iOS) is a magical device.

Microsoft, has conditioned people into thinking viruses are just an inevitable part of computing. They are certainly not going away when antivirus companies have an ongoing financial incentive.

Apple has shown them that the system just needed to be overhauled.

I'm sure there will be the occasional virus that sneaks through the App Store in the future but I trust that Apple will be quick to deal with it. They certainly have the infrastructure by way of killswitches etc to deal with the problem with almost no input from the user.

I'd say a once-off, so called "Apple tax" compares very favourably to a lifetime of McAffee nagware.

Here's a little conversation from me and from possibly the worlds biggest Android fanboy on YouTube. Thought u guys might get a kick out of it.

    ICON7T6

If u like having a good chance of having malware on your device go with Android lmao.

    sitbackrelaxxx

@ICON7T6 Hey man, missed ya bro. I miss destroying you HAHAHAHAHAHA. Your little iToy can't compete, get outta here and come back when you finally find a legitimate argument. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH B*****!!!!!

    ICON7T6

The Whole Android malware situation is a legitimate argument and a problem. Have u been living under a rock lol? I guess I would try to ignore it to and also kinda be upset just like u if I owned an Android device lmao. Sorry I struck a nerve lololol. Just thought I would pop in and see how it was going. Peace and watch out for them viruses man!!

    ICON7T6

A new study has found that iOS remained untouched by malware during the second quarter, while Android faced 76 percent more threats than in the first quarter, making it the most targeted mobile platform. See man that's no joke lololol. Sucks to be u lmao. Catch ya later!

    sitbackrelaxxx

@ICON7T6 Lol you f*****n h***, nobody has problems with malware. You iTard are the only losers that ever mention malware as a vapored defense mechanism. Keep posting bs attempts to blemish Android's reputation and help boost your mediocre iPhone's HAHAHA. You sir are joke on these videos and nobody takes you seriously. HAHA You are simply too stupid and Apple washed to hold any credibility. F********T. Seriously though, I did miss these little wars we used to have. Keep posting my b****.

    ICON7T6

Somebody's in denial lmao. I know it hurts man but it will be ok. I'm not the one u need to explain this to. It's allover the Internet so u better get work lololol.

    sitbackrelaxxx

@ICON7T6 HAHAHAHAHAHA you are delusional, nobody care what you or the other 10% of the people that comment on here that are Apple retards have to say. If you haven't noticed, Android users are dominating these youtube videos just like Android is dominating the mobile industry HAHAHAHAHAHAH Facts indeed tend to get you guys all pee pee crushed and for most of us Android users, we sit back and laugh at you watching your pride and faith getting flushed down the toilet. Bye bye now little one HAHAHA

    sitbackrelaxxx

A new study has found "Android users were more likely to be men, ages 18-34 who lean to the right politically. Conversely, iOS users tend to be women over 35 years old and are "17 percent more likely to be politically liberal," according to Hunch's data." HAHAHAHAHAHAH bunch of Apple p****** HAHAHAHAHA

    Bullshit.

Lock My Phone - Security Software is nothing but malware and it was the #1 paid 'effing app on the iPhone app store. It's still #6 and it has been a couple of weeks.

    McAfee are irrelevant.

Apple need to clean this shit up.

Actually, yes, it's exactly like that. These days I can't go to the comments section of any friggin tech website to read something insightful, because the only thing you see is hating and trolling on Apple products, and what's even more sad, lots of hyperbole and stereotype about the kind of people who use them. If I post anything even remotely positive about any Apple product, I have a 90% chance of being called a fanboy within the hour.

I don't go to 'Android fan sites', but extrapolating the kind of people that seem to be most adamant about Android, I'd guess I would find largely the same sentiments about iOS there.

Excuse me, but how is that application even remotely classifiable as malware? It's just a very lame fake phone locking tool that doesn't actually do anything, but it's not malware by any stretch of the definition.

The description for the application literally says it doesn't do anything:

    Quote:

This app is intended for entertainment purposes only and does not provide security functionality.

    Quote:

It is proven that the illusion of security is almost as effective as true security. This app provides the illusion of security. Your phone can still be unlocked as normal, but the lock screen background you create with this app makes it appear to intruders as if you have added security.

I'm all with you if you want to rave about McAfee and all the other 'security' software manufacturers, because in my mind, all of it is just one big scam (ie: if you just use your brain, you don't need no stinkin' security software on any system, unless you are still using windows 9x). But this application you are linking to, to prove there is 'malware' on iOS, it really doesn't make any sense.

Easy access to malware is proving to be one of the few ways in which android remains "open."

As to your concern that Apple users are discussing this, check out the OP's heading.

Back on topic .... The first reply was spot on. I just want to add I like being in the walled garden. Perhaps Apple should make more of the advantages and use that phrase in ads. Given Android and PC users love to use that phrase all the time they'd be helping the cause.

What you say is true even on regular news sites. CNN or any regular news service only has to report some ground breaking thing Apple has achieved ... Which is actually news worthy in of itself, only to be blasted by androids and PC geeks. Talk about being insecure?
