Idiots, eventually there's going to be some market share for the product, and while not an iPad, it can have a respectable minuscule share, even cut in to iPad users a bit if it endears itself.
I hope someone more clever and with more flair than these bozos actually buys it and puts some nice hardware to it...
95% of the world runs on windows. Don't tell me that people don't want a windows 8 tablet when they come out. I for one will be buying one and dump this piece of shit iPad that keeps closing down every 5 minutes in safari. I gave it a go, but it's just a toy for browsing and watching videos. At least with a windows 8 tablet I will be able to do some proper work.

There have been Windows tablets for years, and almost no one ever bought them. Every time MS comes out with an upgrade to Windows, some people say that "This will be the one!". But it never is.
Metro isn't Windows. A real Windows tablet will need x86 chips, like the tablet shown earlier. That needed a mobile i5, with a fan and a heat exhaust vent. This was produced by Samsung. It's an 11.6" model, because using Windows on a smaller device is almost impossible.
So if you really want a real Windows tablet that weighs more than 2 pounds, gets hot, has short battery life, and is large, then by all means, buy a Windows tablet.
But if you're thinking Metro, you're really getting something that MS stated they wouldn't be doing, which is putting their phone OS on a tablet. They can get away with this, because they said they wouldn't put WP7 on a tablet. They never addressed WP8, which is really what Metro is. If you check it out, you will see that it uses the same programming methodology as WP7, has the same API's, updated, of course, and the same UI. Just like WP7, it doesn't allow Flash, or any other plug-ins for Internet use.
So make your choice, but remember, even x86 tablets won't work well with most Windows software.
As far as that 95% goes, it's actually 92%, but that's not the point. The real point is that it's shrinking. Apple is growing Mac sales at about 24% a year, but now Windows is mostly static. It's hardly growing at all, just a few percent, and sometimes, growth has been negative. 6 years ago, Apple had a worldwide marketshare of about 1%, but now it's close to 6%. US marketshare was down to 2.8%, and now it's around 12%. That's serious growth, and it's continuing, last quarter, it was over 26% growth.

You are so talking through your rear end. Do people actually listen to you or do their minds wander when you talk to them?
Sorry I forgot the Apple way of doing things. If people don't agree ban them.

The rumor is that Nikon is interested in buying WebOS. I have no idea why they would want it. They have no interest in phones or tablets. They don't make printers. There's no point in putting this into cameras, those are very specialized real time OS's. But, that's the latest word.

Allowed to exist. Think they tried the same philosophy in Nazi Germany.
Geo-stationary is that supposed to impress people. Did someone buy you a dictionary from Christmas. Are you a big boy now? Get to wear big boy pants and even do number ones and twos on your own?

i bought an HP touchpad to play with
and installled android on it
webOS is light years ahead of android
it's much nicer than the android side
it even has some cool things my ipad 2 doesn't have
hooking up your iphone via bluetooth so when you get a call you get a pop up window on the screen with the callers name and ANSWER/DECLINE
i hope someone has the brains to buy them out and realize they were the best chance in competing with iOS
and to everyone who thinks they should go down
lets not forget what happens when one company dominates an industry
look no further than Microsoft
you need competition to push companies to improve
Why doesn't Digler provide links for his sources?

What is it with these trolls and insulting moderators recently? You'd think they'd be able to tell that's not a good idea.
Though he is partially right; I don't know of any Windows Phone 7 tablets…
Though now I see that melgross wasn't even attempting to insinuate that at all.

This is what Metro is, WP8, not WP7. There have been some good technical articles about this on Ars Technica, and Anandtech, among others
