We can deduce Apple will release a 3rd generation iPad in 2012 and we should assume it will at the same timeframe as the previous models which makes starting to produce the new models before the end of the year likely, especially considering the rumours of when Apple started stockpiling iPhone 4S and how quickly they've rolled out the 4S release.
We also know Apple didn't update the iPod Touch this year, which makes sense if you don't want the Touch to muddle your flagship device's release. I bring this up because I don't think the Touch was simply skipped for a year, just moved to a latter date. But what about adding a 2nd iPod Touch size? Apple said a smaller tablet wouldn't make sense but what about a 2nd PMP size? Sure, this does have its pitfalls with the display sizes/resolutions for developers but that tells me this is why you'd want to refer to this inclusion as an ebbing PMP market not an expanding tablet market.
Now he suddenly wants to stockpile 2 million iPad3 this year? At least 2-3 month before launch?
Technically: TSMC is the only foundry with 28nm online. AMD will start to sell 28nm cards i December. How is Apple going to get their hands on 2 million A6 processors in 28nm?
I know about the Samsung 28nm reports. The problem is that you need to design 2 different SoCs to produce at TSMC and Samsung. Since we know that Apple have taped out a chip at TSCM and got back test wafers mid summer: what chip would this be if its not a 28nm A6?
Samsung will continue to manufacture Iphone3Gs SoC, A4 and A5.
A6 = TSMC.
I'm worried a little about TSMC though. They've had some shocking yield issues especially at new process nodes.
