Really a non-issue. Executives are typically less computer savvy and use whatever tools are the least hassle. There is simply no doubt that MacOS is a better operating system than Windows. Microsoft dominates PC's due to their business model, not because they have a better OS...

It works for Apple. I like my phone. Sure it's restricted, but it is pretty smooth. Know the antenna gates and battery woes? Well, Apple can easily fix them because the control it. With other compannies, you're sorta stuck with abandonware (Oh, Samsung!)

Apple has done the giving their software.I think it would be suicide. Too many hands on the pot. I mean, shouldn't Nintendo just let their games run on any video game cosnole that can run it?

I don't think that MacBook Air is running HP though.

Sweet! Can I get that in the App Store?

Amazing. Only an idiot like you would come to a website for the sole reason of looking for things to pick on and be negative. Get a life, I really mean that... to take time from your life for this purpose is sad. If you don't like Apple, fine, but be productive with your time and read Windows sites. I don't like Windows and you know what? I don't go to Windows only sites, at most I go to tech sites for an overall news, but stay away from sites only for Windows, not worth my time and I have better things to do, unlike people of your ilk. You are a loser, and I truly-truly mean that.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

It should be captioned, "Ray Lane poses for a picture with his computer at his home"! as he certainly is not using it while it is hanging over the edge as it is.

I don't see what is so embarrassing about the HP Chairman using an Apple product. If I were him, I'd also use a MacBook Air, and be damn proud to show it off.

OTOH, there's a pic of Steve Jobs at home many years ago sitting at what looks like a PC laptop (Toshiba?) with an old style ergo Microsoft mouse in his hand. It's in the Isaacson book, I believe. It was taken years ago, not sure if he was iCEO of Apple at the time or just Pixar...

Of course, there's a more recent photo of Jobs relaxing at home with a 30" Cinema Display and a Mac Pro under his desk. It's also in the book.

The difference is that Steve's PC notebook was running NextStep. Not Windows.

How can you make products better than your competitor if you don't use your competitors products?

By that time, NeXT had gotten out of the hardware business, so he could have been running NeXTSTEP.

    According to Wikipedia:

"The last version, 3.3, was released in early 1995, by which time it ran not only on the Motorola 68000 family processors used in NeXT computers, but also Intel x86, Sun SPARC, and HP PA-RISC-based systems."

Steve returned to Apple in 1996 so that PC laptop could very likely have been running the latest version of NeXTSTEP.

In the case of the HP Chairman, somehow I doubt he's running WebOS on the MacBook Air.

Yep, the iHating basement-dwellers are getting ansy waiting for mommy to bring them down their thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Nothing better to do with their lives than to troll Apple forums. Makes their insignificant lives seem more relevant.

Well, from a hardware-standpoint there is really nothing from the PC world that compares to the MacBook Air. They are the lightest, slimmest laptops on the market. From an OS-perspective, MacOS is more elegant, stable, and easier for the 'average' user. This is my personal opinion and I use both. Of course, Lane could be running Windows OS instead of MacOS. We really can't tell from the picture. Maybe BETTER isn't the right word. I'd say more FLEXIBLE...
