This would as if when I lined up all day for Rolling Stones tickets in the 1970's someone had laughed at me and told there was no line for Barry Manilow tickets.

    Nice.

But a closer analogy might be giving up your Green Day tickets to go see this blatant and cheesy Korean ripoff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOd9Of0-8J0

There are tons more where that came from....\

Maybe reading the reviews first would have helped narrow things down to a better choice. From Engadget:

"there are some problem areas here that never should have made it out of bug testing, and if this is supposed to be a high-end experience for an end user, we hate to think of what the other end of the spectrum would look like."

It used to be that Verizon had all the best Android phones. But the Fascinate was never one of them.

After thinking about my analogy I feel I should apologize to Barry Manilow fans.

Don't normally do this kind of thing, but enough is enough.

We were recently in the market for a fridge and washing machine. Up until recently we definitely would have purchased Samsung. However, Westinghouse and Bosch got our money purely due to Samsung's recent behavior in the court houses, and with their advertisements.

Don't buy a Samsung washing machine. South Koreans prefer LG washing machines. And Samsung A/C units stink. LG A/Cs are much better.

    :-)

Not anymore! That ain't Apple these days. Apple is as mainstream as it gets.

That is not the reason for their laughter.

I am very similar to Apple fans, at least in your mind?

Samdung's wet dream is to be that mainstream.

Boy, the Samesung Division of Propaganda are sure active on these forums lately. Seriously, who in their right mind would spend hours posting on the site of a company that makes products they don't like? Hope the overtime pay is good!

Sammy is obviously filling their pants with the nasty stuff over Apple, either way you look at it.

People's laughter at Apple fans has nothing to do with any quality of the products that are manufactured by Apple.

Every mega-corporation in the consumer sector wants exactly that.

Who's going to choose Samsung, when they personally insult potential customers? It's a terrible strategy on their part. Apple doesn't go around making ads and insulting people.

I know a lot of fat nerds who were offended by their portrayal by John Hodgeman. Even if he is funnier than they are and probably doesnt reek of cheetos.

Hodgemen didn't portray a fat nerd or a PC user, he portrayed a PC. The difference isn't subtle. Apple was saying the non-Mac PC was uncool, fraught with issues, and generally not well made. They were saying that the average PC user could do better and offered their Mac as an option. Again, their message never attacked the users, they attacked the HW and OS that were being pushed on users. The ads were a huge success for Apple. They now dominate the price markets they play in.

Apple did release an add that attacked users and it didn't go over well and was never made into a campaign.

I think Samsung might want to reexamine their marketing strategy with these tongue-and-cheek digs at Apple. What I see as an Apple user is this ...

"YOU are so stupid for liking and/or using Apple products ... Now buy our products! They're shinny."

Pretty much everyone has, at the very least, an iPod ... if not an iPhone, and a lot of people who don't have iPhones admit they'd like to have one (usually citing the price as the main reason they choose not to buy one). So, by attacking people who like Apple they're essentially not attacking the company, but anyone and everyone who likes their products (not necessarily just the people who own them).

Nothing makes me want to buy something more than when the person selling it insults my intelligence ...

Apple should simply note in their ads some Samsung Galaxy S II features ?

Like significantly less pixels in that bigger screen.

Or the forward camera lens positioned where fingers are likely to cover it.

Samsung is short changing their customers, but they say they are giving more !
