Apple iPod Classic to get camera's, speaker, be thinner, nfc, Multitouch Display, iTunes, Ping, Shar
I strongly believe Apple cannot miss out on the opportunity of including the iTunes Store on their largest memory iPod.
The iPod Classic has not been updated for 3 years now, and is due for a refresh as soon as apple comes to its senses. I suspect and I am doing this on pure speculation that there will finally be an upgrade to the 7th gen iPod Classic in 2013 Spring, that will add features currently available on the iPod Touch and future iDevices.. such as Facetime. Shared Photostreams, NFC, Hybrid Thunderbolt/USB 3.0 Dock, iTunes Store to stream and download videos, movies, podcasts, Include Bluetooth 4.0, AND LASTLY Their PING NETWORK. It was not deployed correctly because it was only built only on the iTunes Application on your desktops, and it will be rebuilt into future versions of iOS in your iPod Touch and iPhone and iPad music apps to share what you're listening to, finally across all iPods, the Nano, and Classic, let's ignore the shuffle because that model is perfect the way it is.

You're completely wrong and grasping. Apple is never going to do this ever for any reason. The iPod touch exists for this purpose. The iPod classic is not going to get so much as a capacity update, much less everything else.
And Ping, as I've stated multiple times now, is being discontinued.
IF YOU BELEIVE IN IT IT WILL HAPPEN.
If their largest iPad stays around as the classic. It would make more sense for them to double or triple Touch memory capacity. Not a chance! IPod hardware gets updated in the in the fall every year. This has been so for years now. Why? Seriously Classic users like the machine for what it is. If users want all of that stuff mentioned above they should just buy a Touch. What?
If you are talking about PING, it is dead.
The most likely course of action is for the Classic to die. Apple is moving to a new dock connector and as such there would be little incentive for them to engineer a new classic.
And Ping is dead because they didn't build it on iPods. If it was built in the music app on every iPhone and iPod touch we would be able to get updates from our artists by clicking their names, all their tour dates, if they were on tour, and have small biographies (including the meanings of their songs) and the ability to share playlists with friends, and what we are listening to. You guys don't see the future. Why are you on here if you're going to criticize negatively... It's a forum, where you're supposed to promote FUTURE hardware. How do you not see iTunes and Streamable Podcasts being intergrated into all the next gen iPods... They are really good ideas.. NFC photostreams... Bluetooth 4.0 headphones, multitouch retina screen on the ipod classic... Why wouldn't Apple do this is the question. I would buy it instantly. I need a freaking update.
As to play lists I really don't want to know what you are listening to. I don't care really. No one is being negative here. All we are doing is pointing out a few realities. Exactly! If you where in the loop you might have heard that Apple is going to a new dock connector. Such a connector immediately makes the classic obsolete. A new device that comes out with that connector can no longer be a classic.
As to the future Touch is the path, it has the hardware and operating system to support what you want. With a strong SSD update it can replace the classic capacity wise too. Have you ever picked up a Touch? It has these features already. Beyond that many users of the other iPods would barf at the thought of all that crap running on their music players. People still buy iPods to focus on the enjoyment of music in a simple to use device. Yeah they are so good Apple has implemented them already, well at least some of those features. They just didn't implement them on the hard ware you want them on. Again it makes no sense for Apple implement something that it already has in a similar device. You basically argue here for the very things that are already in a touch. Why you want all of this ported to a classic is beyond me. Consider also the rumors of larger Touch and iPhones next month, which could lead to additional capabilities being built into the Touch. I just don't see the motivation for Apple to try to work all this capability into a classic.

No ping is dead because it was a stupid idea.
Who in the hell cares about an artist tour schedule? If a person does, Apple is the last place to go looking for info on any one group. As to biographies, I fine that I have zero need to stalk people or otherwise voyeur some stranger. It is darn creepy the way that people get wrapped up in their favorite artists.

I agree that it is a tough task to reinvent the classic with PING AND iTUNES but Apple has lots of employees and most of them will agree that for apple to make more profit, it should intergrate atleast iTunes into their iPod Classic... it has the most memory... Here is my next iPod Touch Prediction...
The new iPod Touch, as it probably will be called will be relased next year along with the new iMac update during Spring and after 3 months after the arrival of the new iPhone. It will come with the new in cell multitouch technology that screen companies have been building to make the device thinner than it already is, and I'm assuming that since they learned of the A5 saving 30% more battery life, the iPod touch will have an A5 32 nm processor found in the iPad 2 Revision A. I also suspect that if the iPhone is to get a screen update so will the iPod, as it makes the production of the screens easier and iOS won't become fragmented. If it is to get the A5, it won't receive Siri, as the iPad 2 model did not receive Siri for marketing reasons ( even though you can hack her on it, as well as the current iPod 4th gen with a SiriPort, and the 4th iPhone too as long as they are jailbroken and you know what you are doing). It will come in multiple colors, ( but still have the front glass panel and possibly a capacitive home button, but i doubt that one)
After that iPod is released, iOS 7 will have intergreated Ping into their Music App for the new iPhone and new iPod, NFC and Bluetooth (Near Field Communications for easier device transfer) and might have panoramic all round gyroscope enabled 360 wallpapers and new features such as Video Streaming across iOS Devices, to share videos across all devices near it with identity lock passwords ( accept video transfer passwords), ability to use your camera as a wallpaper, mute video wallpapers, Ability to send your camera feed to social networks or friends nearby or across the world with NFC or Wifi AC (iDevice Camera Web Video Streams) and New UI Elements such as folding Orgami transitions between pages, Lock Screen unlocks with Face Recognition or Fingerprint recognition, ( used as new method to buy stuff with your iPhone as well) and new 3D Maps that are currently available on iOS 6 Beta 3 for the 4S will intergrate 3D View to your camera so you can see labels where stores are, and ultimately use your camera as your gps while it is mounted on your cars dashboard... which will include Siri and Siri will be able to control music volume, and do normal things like texting, playing videos for you, streaming music or video feeds across your devices ( say "Siri play this movie on my tv", and it'll do it, or "Play this on my iTunes" and it'll do it.
The future is bright.

No. None of them would agree with that. The iPod touch exists for a reason.
The new iPod Touch, as it probably will be called will be relased next year along with the new iMac update during Spring…
1. No. Fall.
2. The next iMac better darn well not take until spring.
If it is to get the A5, it won't receive Siri, as the iPad 2 model did not receive Siri for marketing reasons…
That's not a reasonable explanation.
After that iPod is released, iOS 7 will have intergreated Ping into their Music App…
LISTEN TO WHAT WE ARE SAYING. APPLE HAS DISCONTINUED PING. THERE IS NO MORE PING. THEY WILL NOT BE INTEGRATING PING INTO ANYTHING. PING IS GONE. STOP.
…panoramic all round gyroscope enabled 360 wallpapers…
That's just stupid.
…Video Streaming across iOS Devices, to share videos across all devices near it with identity lock passwords…
These aren't Zunes…
…ability to use your camera as a wallpaper…
Another bad idea. Too much visual noise when using the device.
…mute video wallpapers…
An idea even worse than the earlier one…
…New UI Elements such as folding Orgami transitions between pages…
Zero point to that. This isn't Android where you just plop down absolutely everything imaginable into the OS. No.
…Lock Screen unlocks with Face Recognition or Fingerprint recognition…
Both gimmicks and both easily circumvented.
…used as new method to buy stuff with your iPhone as well…
So anyone with a picture of me can hack my account. Great.
The future is bright.
Not THAT future.
It would make more sense for them to double or triple Touch memory capacity.

Dude... what do you do for a living?? How can you be so freaking down about all the ideas I share... they're so obious it's what's going to happen. Fingerprint and voice authorization tech will allow a user to sign in to their purchases and buy stuff, such as apps or music. ( And I'm right about the iPod not getting Siri or 3D Maps... I have beta 4 on my ipod 4th gen and it doesn't do it. I had to hack Siri on it with an Apple Port and certificate from a russian developer.
Here take a look at this one I just emailed to Scott Forstall and tell me what you think. ( this is the exact copy)
Hi, I'm loving iOS 6, Don't ask how I have it on my iDevice. I'm not a developer but I do have it.. It feels old.
You're falling behind in the customization and UI. It feels like iOS 3.1.3 with Wallpapers ( Which I did with a jailbreak back in O7 before iOS 5 was out) (sorry) The next iOS Version, iOS 7... You better be listening...
iOS has static wallpapers, I have to jailbreak your iDevices to get cool video wallpapers and panoramic wallpapers, there's even 3D Wallpapers ( A tweak called DeepEnd on Cydia) available. Not many people know how to get these features.. Heck I had a virtual iPod Classic Click wheel music app tweak once.
I had a thought since I looked at Beta 4... Your device uses slide gestures to navigate across pages of apps and folders, but I was thinking..... Why don't you guys make it so you can control app navigation using the gyroscope or using the gyroscope to rotate a wallpaper 360 wise?
For instance, here's a new way to control the device) shaking the device blurs out the wallpaper ( which you better be listening about it not being static after iOS 7 or you'll get hell)
And that creates this Virtual Space based UI.. That you can control by rotating your device in a spherical 360 mode.
Rotating my phone from north to north east, would cause the wallpaper to shift ( or you could use the camera as the wallpaper for this and make the phone feel invinsible) ( Listen to this feature, no other phone does this yet)
As I was saying, rotating your phone gets the apps organized in a blurred virtual air UI, come to your view when you tap on the screen or pinch to zoom to get to them or...
Here's the magic.. Being able to navigate apps by moving the screen in all directions... Up, down, left, right... 360 wise. And on top of it you can let users reorganize them there. So they can search for an app either by asking siri, or using the air UI, And the Air UI would feel magical. They would be able to create spaces in the UI. For example, a user could click the photo app on the Air Based UI, and photos would pour out into the Device, or Music files, when played could have traditional iTunes style Visualizations behind the album arts, but you could get back to your files in the Air UI and open another app by rotating the device. A user can create app zones in the Air UI and the phone should be able to remember them.
Picture this. I shake the device to activate the Air UI, and the apps come out of their folders and dissappear ( the user is baffled and rotates the device to find them hiding in the Air UI. He rotates the phone and finds them. Then now the user now knows they can navigate to them by rotating the phone in various directions, and they can move the app into the 360 zone they create, say an app placement requires an app to be be holded on for a few seconds seconds and the user rotates the phone to a direction, then releases the app in there, now the app can be always found in that direction when the user rotates his phone to that specific direction.
to get to the classic page navigation just shake the device again, and all the apps would come back to their folders, etc...
Ofcourse you should consider Dynamic Wallpapers or the invisible camera wallpaper for it if you're not going to do the Air UI idea still.
This is just an idea, and I seriously think you need to move past static wallpaper... For god sakes man.. My old blackberry curve has dynamic changing wallpaper like Windows 7 (A product I hate) AND Picture changing Screensavers when I dock my phone to it's charger. One up your competition by atleast giving users video wallpapers... I had Those on your iPod Touch back in o'7. And that ran on 128 mb. Heck Looped Video Screensavers would be amazing... I would love to see a clip play when I press my home button on my lock screen. If you don't listen on this.. You're going to fall like Rimm Did. And they're trying to get back up.. They just got Android Apps running on BB OS 10 and dynamic apps icons with social feeds... ANOTHER GREAT IDEA for your Air UI. Falling fading feeds positioned in the virtual 360 sphere... Come on! I'm on a roll.
As you see... I just invented Virtual Air UI's. What do you think of that man?

Because they already HAVE happened… in the iPod touch. And will never happen in the iPod classic.
Fingerprint and voice authorization tech will allow a user to sign in to their purchases and buy stuff, such as apps or music.
And when they can be shown to actually be secure, I might welcome them.
I had to hack Siri on it with an Apple Port and certificate from a russian developer.
Well, you didn't have to do that at all…
The next iOS Version, iOS 7... You better be listening...
I'm sure he's terrified.
iOS has static wallpapers, I have to jailbreak your iDevices to get cool video wallpapers…
Because the former makes sense and the latter is a power waste and visual clutter.
Why don't you guys make it so you can control app navigation using the gyroscope or using the gyroscope to rotate a wallpaper 360 wise?
Probably because they want people to be able to actually move around without their devices going haywire on them.
For instance, here's a new way to control the device) shaking the device blurs out the wallpaper ( which you better be listening about it not being static after iOS 7 or you'll get hell)
You're one person, who means absolutely nothing to them, and no matter what you'll raise, they'll ignore all ideas that make absolutely no sense and have no purpose!
…And the Air UI would feel magical. They would be able to create spaces in the UI.
Have any mockups thereof? I'd like to see what you're thinking.
…the user is baffled…
And right there you've illegitimized your idea.
…Dynamic Wallpapers or the invisible camera wallpaper… …move past static wallpaper… …dynamic changing wallpaper… …video wallpapers… …Video Screensavers…
Just frigging jailbreak and be done with it! There's a reason these ideas aren't happening!
If you don't listen on this.. You're going to fall like Rimm Did.
?????
What do you think of that man?
????????
It's a really good idea man... you didn't complain so much... haha. Apple's been looking at a way to do this... there's some patents lying around about a 3D box UI that I thought was neat, I'm assuming they were thinking of making a 3D Navigational UI where you can move around a 3D space and touch apps to run them. Some new phones are implementing ideas like that right now. But I think they suck. It feels like a videogame.
But seriously, Static wallpapers suck.... and this UI is probably going to hit the market sometime in 2015, I just made it so Apple has a head start, and who ever reads this can incorporate it to their device.
( a suggestion would be to use a 3D Element like a Bnce, where when you zoom into an area, the app icons or elements bounce straight into the device and then move back a bit) with a few distortion elements in the backgrounds... Like polar lens effects in the 360 Sphere background. ( a user can customize the spheres background to make it their own bubble, or make it black if they're too lazy as well).... here's another idea, app group cluster, like galaxy's in the air. A user can tap to zoom into the UI ( and the apps come forward like they're racing to be in the screen, bounce forward and back a bit, in a rotating galaxy way, and in the center will be black animated star, that rotates clockwise like a planet, and the apps can be seen to move from far away ( little tiny app icons rotating around the galaxy ( Of course this would work better for music library's.... where there's a search bar function on the bottom of the screen and the album art is rotated with your fingers in a galaxy formation, displaying the title of the artist.
We can create a whole world inside the 3D Air UI, and the user would love it.
And the fall like Rimm thing is not possible with all that cash they have, but I was just sad for them.

Wrong.... They'd think of incorporating it into all their newer iDevices...duh. And they'd make an adapter for older accesories ( a dock adapter cable accesory)

Not when the benefit doesn't outweigh the point.

Why would the imac update take until Spring? Are you suggesting they'll stretch that long before releasing Ivy? If you're suggesting they'll wait until Haswell, that would be more like late Summer.
You do realize that iPod Touch exist right? Realistically Apple can replace the classic simply by doubling or tripling flash storage in the Touch. Once that is done Touch will have most of what you are asking for. There is little reason to turn the classic into another Touch.
I'm saying right now they are focusing on the iPhone because that's their most hyped product. And the iMac is getting newer ssd storage, the Ivy Bridge or Haswell ( which ever) and a Nvidia GT 650 or higher, and 16 gb of ram, and like their new macbook pro with retina display their new goal might be to upgrade their iMac to the new Retina Display and reduce glare, while still keeping the same size screens. ( Of course I suggest an iMac getting smaller for people to afford them more, and the retina screen will come to it if it does get smaller. (say 20 inches sounds about right to be able to store all the components inside) That's why it'll take till spring. That and they might adopt AC Wifi as they adopt newer technology before everyone else.
And it's not about the iPod Touch getting more memory and the Classic getting features available in the Touch... It's about getting iTunes on the Classic to sell more music, and keeping the iconic design alive... Most people I meet say the iPod Classic is more for hardcore music lovers, and that's what it says. An iPod Touch is more for kids and their games, and that's why I'm saying the classic needs to be reinvented to bring out only the proffessional music features, like Ping and Playlist sharing with all iOS Devices... including the nano.
Except the Shuffle because that one doesn't have a screen and is perfect... although I would add a bit more than 2 gigs to it. 8 max and make the Headphone jack charger be the new dock for all iDevices since its also use to transfer music.
And one day they'll make led screen keyboards that change the letters for people that speak different languages and the ability to press shift or an upwards arrow to display numbers or symbols. But that's in like 2 years.

No, it's in, like, five years ago…
