I ment bluetooth keyboards made of led screens for the iMac or Macbooks with multitouch. And we could draw on it with a a rubber pencil tip, so creative people can do things easier. For example, rotating the paper involves using two fingers to rotate the paper on the screen and it shows up on the keyboard with tools on the sides of the keyboard screens. No longer will we rely on zooming bars ( 1 to 100%) and above. We will pinch to zoom out, etc on all applications.
We can use the keyboard space to remove the top UI's and save screen space making the experience much better. We can add back forward home buttons to the keyboard of a web browser for example, or use radial UI's to navigate throughout the application above the keyboard. We can even place the dock on the keyboard and control the iMac with the LED Screen Keyboard....
I'm wondering why they haven't implemented all this cool stuff into the iPad.
Okay, so I am dying for them to make a new iPod classic, I thought they could use a similar design to the new touch, here is an image I made of what I would like the new classic to look like. (in other colours as well, of course)
You do realize that iPod Touch exist right? Realistically Apple can replace the classic simply by doubling or tripling flash storage in the Touch. Once that is done Touch will have most of what you are asking for. There is little reason to turn the classic into another Touch.
Its kinda odd that there isn't a 128GB Touch. That could pretty much eliminate the iPod Classic right there.
Meh, I use a Wi-Drive since my Kindle and iPad are both short on space. For music and movies the Wi-Drive is more effective for me than pushing beyond the space I want for apps. So 32GB is my sweet spot for cost vs storage.
I'm happy with the iPod Classic and do not need for any improvement, except a larger capacity :
this is the perfect reader for many high end cars (bmw, audi), because it is fully supported by iDrive. I use it only in my car. No need for a better display neigher touch screen. Essentially, this is storage for music, with sync feature when connected to iTunes.

It's never going to happen.
