If you like bigger screen device which also can make calls i'm not stopping you. If Apple thinks that there is a market for 5" iPhones then good for you. I will personally settle for 3,5" screen phone and 7-10" tablet (iPhone 4S and iPad Mini).

Let's face it. IPhone is no longer just a phone either. In fact, is it much of a phone? Just look at how Apple tracks its usage - number of Facetime messages sent, web surfing, apps downloaded ... Don't hear about how many calls are made, or dropped ;-)

200 stores? They have more than just in the US alone.

I love reading this guys posts.  First reaction I always get is "what the heck is this guy talking about"?  :???:   But then afterwards I always have a good chuckle as I recognize that this is his own naive opinion (I dont think he realizes Apple does tons of research on this stuff and what he wants is not necessarily what the majority wants).  It is ALMOST as good as reading 'The Daily WTF'...

I'll end with this: Apple is good at figuring out what most people want or making them want something customers didn't even know they wanted.  They may make a bigger phone, they may not.  Apple will do what it thinks is best, not what some bloke on the internet who thinks he has the next best idea since sliced bread.

Good advice. Apple probably has many different screen sizes in their labs and once the get the right combination of performance, design and battery life the will release it. Then everyone here can bitch and moan about how Apple is trying to be Android. Price is what is keeping Apple out of Asian markets not screen size.

Chief among the carrier's concerns would be Apple's strong stance against letting carriers preinstall software on its phones.

Which wouldn't benefit the consumer. The carriers don't want to give people freedom to use their phones and their bandwidth -- clearly things like messaging, chat, and being able to voice conference through the iPhone are things that cut into carrier profits. They also probably don't get as much data mining as they'd like.

I don't know if that's the motive for this particular carrier -- probably it's just the principle of letting manufacturers control the phone and they don't want to fall into the competitive market as just another iPhone seller.

My guess is that DoCoMo is going to hold out and see if they can get concessions from Apple -- which will never come. Then they'll either carry the iPhone like everyone else (sans spyware/shovelware) after some face-saving pretend concessions from Apple (like a "Click here to get DoCoMo welcome screen!" on the first screen), or they'll lose to a few customers.
