Oh man I hope that this iWatch business is just a joke that Apple has let loose into the world so that everyone would come up with a "revolutionary watch" before Apple.
Translucent aluminum? Did Scotty give Microsoft the formula for transparent aluminum? I thought Scotty used a Mac do run the formulas, I don't think he'd just give to Microsoft. Unless Microsoft helped Kirk & Co. help transport whales into the future. If Microsoft helped them transport Whales into the future, they'd end up getting viruses in the process.
Translucent aluminum, all the softness and scratchability of the metal with the breakability of glass. Sounds like a winning combination. [good natured teasing, not a hater]
Ahh, you all laugh and mock, but Apple is late to the smartwatch game, and isn't really innovating at all (kinda like the iPad mini... and the iPad 4... I mean, iPad with retina display, or is it the new iPad? or the iPad fourth generation?)... oh, and you mock that it will feature a Windows 8-like interface? Don't even get me started on iOS 7.

HAHA, and before anyone says something, yes, I've used just about every Apple device out there: every generation iPad (members of my family have owned 1st, 2nd and 4th gen), iPad mini, Apple TV, MacBook Pro (owned by a family member), Air, Mac, iPod touch, iPhone (every generation, and the most recent 4 were owned by members of my family), and I've done tech work on quite a few of these, and haven a couple given to me... still prefer my Surface, Windows computers, and three-year-old Windows Phone (I have Sprint). :wow:

Or maybe these other companies are rushing to get theirs out before Apple only for Apple to never release such an unnecessary device and then they can watch others pour money into design, developing, producing and distributing something that nobody really wants ... once the first day's novelty has worn off.
A key component of Microsoft's alleged smart watch is said to be the concept of removable bands in a variety of colors. Early test hardware reportedly includes bands in blue, yellow, black, white and grey.
As others have pointed out, that doesn't seem very key at all.
All they need to do, is make sure that we can buy and use bands from anywhere.
(For example, I had an Android based smartwatch, and it used standard 20mm bands, so I was able to get a nice leather one to replace the rubberish one that it came with.)

I would laugh pretty hard if that were the case.

a) make a music player that nobody cares for (Zune)
b) make an OS that nobody cares for (Windows 8)
c) make a tablet that nobody cares for (Surface)
d) make software that nobody cares for (Office 365)
e) make a watch that nobody cares for
Who am I to argue the beauty and the logic behind sweaty monkey boy's plans...
