Now compare that notion with four posters to this thread so far, high-fiving each other for baiting a TS gobsmackdown.

In short, this is similarly juvenile, petty, and it's getting real old.

    Love it too much :)

It appears there is some desperation lately. Many pro Apple sites are getting hit heavily by trolls.

Obviously the purpose is to disrupt any meaningful discussion.

Your last line is the most accurate thing you have said on this forum and in the less than a dozen half of them have called TROLL. I think you need to look in the mirror and then go get some help.

Please just take your frustrations and visit them on some one else. I for one am sick of them.

That's the irony of their posts, isn't it? They claim this forum is full of fanboys who are not capable of having meaningful discussion. But all these trolls do is attack forums members, the site, and Apple. How is that fostering discussion? (it's a rhetorical question--they didn't come here to make any meaningful contributions--they came here to start arguments and pick fights with Apple fanboys).

Nothing like a bit of good old fashioned racism to liven up a debate.

Anyway, 99% of the US is composed of immigrants.

Were I to be involved in another country's jurisprudence, I would be concerned about doing my job so that I applied the law as it was written, since I'd very rapidly lose my job if I made it up on the hoof...
I realize that by broaching race one runs the risk of being labeled racist, but if you re-read my post I was quite clear in acknowledging our immigrant heritage. I was trying to make the point that judges often recuse themselves to avoid even the possibility of any perception of bias, even if unfounded. Actually, it could go either way. If she were overly sensitive to such a perception she might even be harder on Samsung. This whole thing was covered in a CNET story from a year ago I just found. In any case, I think you were wrong to accuse me of racism because I raised a sensitive issue in what I thought was a respectful way.

The troll co-dependents attract the trolls. They are equally annoying.

It would be nice if one had to earn their way to full membership on this forum, and that the initial post of a newbie had to be passed by a moderator before going live.

Better than that, vBulletin had Coventry, which allowed users to post without anyone but themselves seeing their posts.

A troll could go for months without noticing they weren't being seen by anyone else. Or at least until they logged out and noticed. :p

Dunno why Huddler hasn't seen fit to add the same.

I joined a forum a year or so ago and that is precisely what happened to me. Though I wasn't trolling, none of my posts were showing up (which I didn't realize it until I logged out). I couldn't find any reason why my posts weren't showing up other than the fact that I was new to the forum. After about a week or so of not seeing any posts show up, I gave up on the forum.

Have you asked for that feature? Or is AI too small for them to care?

Hmm... I vaguely remember talking to the Huddler guys once, but that was a while ago. I don't think they're large enough that we're insignificant, though. They only advertise 23 of their sites on their own and we're one of them. Bet if Kasper dropped them a line, they'd see what they could do.

They would notice immediately on AI, because they wouldn't have you telling them to shut up and go away.
Why don't you stop doing that? You know they live for that, don't you?

    Ha! I like that.

Oh, they don't. They live for responses. Give 'em one to make sure, then canned replies the rest of the time. They won't have any ammunition then.

Or, you know, do the right thing and just ban the accounts on sight.

I've limited my involvement a lot simply because the trolls and iHaters that infested AI to such a degree, all rational discussion that existed in the earlier days from actual Apple enthusiasts are essentially gone.

What the heck is up the moderator's a##?  People obviously can and should express their opinions on this forum, but when their "opinions" are clearly (to me) trolling, attacks, iHating, etc... I'd be removing posts and banning people right and left and not give a damn to the folks whining about it.  To hell with the mod's belief that "every post has a voice" nonsense.  AI comments are about as useless as can be nowadays.

AI seems to just be succumbing to being a web-click-whore and just opening the floodgates of letting all kinds of trash post on the forums.  AI is on borrowed time, and the mods don't seem to give a damn about integrity anymore.

That is why I use the real iPhone not looked alike. I feel ashamed if I carry one of those look alike devices. Plagiarism is something that should not be in my dictionary.

You're describing TS when he was a mod, but unfortunately we're down to just Marvin. No offense to Marvin.

Ah, I'm quite glad that someone else shares my views and is supportive of what I did as moderator. Thank you.

Not to overstate the work I did, but I imagine the current onslaught of trolling would have been noticed several months sooner had I not done it. It can be handled, it just needs to be handled.
