Maybe they are building something horrifying o_0

Like pharmaceutical companies buying toes to make some giant toe monster :-O

Seriously though, wtf are they planning to do with these iPads, that's so fricking weird.

haha..ms has good sense of humor. On the other hand I hope  they have a fire sale on surface RT tablets for $49 a piece...and dont talk about trading in ipads.

This is clearly going to be huge for MS.  They've already had three people sign up for the deal.  Massive potential, massive!

Na man - everything is a talent test.

We get the Lenovo TP2 with the built in Wacom pen from work - but it is locked by iT - i would like my own to do what I want with it. I have an old iPad 2 with a jot touch that I got for Procreate. If I can upgrade for 299 it is a deal for what I would use it for.

How much store credit will they give for a very "gently used" Surface? <img class=" src="http://forums-files.appleinsider.com/images/smilies//lol.gif" />

300% increase to their customer base. Way to go Balmer!

Resold for ~$300, Microsoft just might have a new, lucrative business on their hands!

Except for the one little hitch where no one in their right mind wants a Microsoft Store gift card.

Not an authorized Apple Reseller. But Microsoft can apply to join the reseller program.

This promotion is like flushing my old iPad into toliet. Or even less considered than a replacement unit offered by Apple store for a broken one.

A workable Surface costs $1000 (WINPRO), -$200, I still have to pay $800 for a 1080p in 10" space, 64G usable Storage laptop without a keyboard. If I want a decent working environment, $499 is more than enough. It just don't make sense.

Wow, you must really like your Surface. Most I heard were hardly used.
