Wow, it really DOES look amazing.

This was a great idea, I think.

I'm sorry but whoever decided to switch the S from uppercase to lowercase should be fired.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to agree with you wholeheartedly and dearly hope that it's switched on the site within the next few days like the iPhone 3GS was (initially iPhone 3G S).

Maybe if no one in the media or on blogs uses the lower case s and Apple will get the hint and change it back.

It's not just a lower case "s" but an "s" with a square ring around it! Hello?

Except absolutely no one writes it like that. Even Apple.

Don't you think it should be named iPhone 7?

What, the one that just came out? I think it should have been called iPhone. :p Again, that solves the problem they'll have next year with names, and for all future years.

    iPhone S

    iPhone C

    iPhone 4S

?It's wonky for the first year because of the old name, but afterward it's just like this:

    ?iPhone S

    iPhone

    iPhone C

Then every year afterward, just move the models down one. But next year, it will be

    iPhone 6

    iPhone 5SC

    iPhone 5C

No, it's a small capital s, like so:

    700

Don't you think it should be named iPhone 7?

What, the one that just came out? I think it should have been called iPhone. :p

But which gen are we on now?

    700

    I count 8, some will count 7, I presume(?)

    7, of course. The 5C (6) is merely a redesigned 5 (6).

    But the differences are there:

    0.6mm increase in length
    0.6mm increase in width
1.37mm increase in thickness (thinness?) (Hence the separate dock they had to design)
quite an increase in weight: 20 grams (18%)

And no 64GB option anymore, but ok, that shouldn't define a generation, per se. Come to think of it, what does?

They release one new model per year. Been seven models so far.

It is difficult to imagine what they will use for their no cost entry version once the 4S is not capable of running the newest OS. Perhaps the white 5c.

Hmm. I dunno; now that they have a range of colors in the iPhone, I tend to think they'll keep the entire range of colors when it hits $0 on contract. Remember when they used to stop offering the white version when it hit the low end (and middle)? They stopped doing that a few years ago, so I think they'll keep all the colors around.

Maybe next year's set of "iPhone C" colors will be different–like how the 2nd gen iPod shuffle had two sets of colors before being updated to the 3rd, but with the hardware actually changing (being 5S internals instead).

Maybe they'll switch to polka dots and Dalmatian patterns. Ugh!
