It went on this way formonths. Not even once would anyone consider a competing product.
But you probably didn't see people doing what I did. I wanted a Wii but I don't play that obnoxious game of chasing after a silly piece of consumer electronics.
Once it was clear that it was difficult to purchase the Wii for MSRP, I simply didn't buy it and never have. I eventually got a PS3, a lot later after I lost interest in the Wii.
I had a iPhone 3 and still use my iPhone 4 (which I got at launch without any problems) off contract for <$50/month total. The iPhone 5 and 5s and 5c aren't attractive enough for me but I probably will be in the market for a new phone when the iPhone 6 is released. If I can't buy one on-line or in store without jumping through hoops, I'll just buy an Android phone instead. They are good enough already so it doesn't have to be an iPhone for me.
More bs from the tabloids. Just left the Apple Store and the rep wasnt even sure how many iphone 5s they would have on hand this Friday. He did expect the gold iphone to sellout first of course. Most retail outlets dont know until the shipment comes in. I seriously doubt many retailers had already received shipment by the time this source was interviewed, this article was written, and uploaded to the internet. it's just incredible how contageous it is to write negative articles on Apple. Oddly enough there was no mention of how quick the iphone 5s sold out in preorder in China anywhere on yahoo finance, cnbc , etc. Lastly there is no way Apple can/will target consumers in china who gross $9-10k annually especially if those people have a family to take care of. They cant really afford your standard iphone product. Is it really that important to take 5-10% of someones yearly salary all for the sake of marketshare because there is barely any profit in it. i am glad Apple realizes that they make too much money to have to even go there! i cant believe Apple is being punished for taking the high road.

"Seemingly confirming rumors that Apple will not be able to provide adequate inventory of the iPhone 5s this weekend..."
Rumors? Hardly. It happened to every iphone launch.
