First high quality unboxing videos of iPhone 5c, rare gold 5s hit the Web
Just hours after Apple launched sales of the iPhone 5s and 5c at its brick-and-mortar Apple Stores, videos showing the some of the devices' first unboxings have been uploaded to YouTube.
As people line up in front of Apple Stores around the world to get their hands on the company's latest iPhone models, Australia has had units on sale for hours, enough time to get a quick unboxing video shot and uploaded to the Web.
Once again, Ben Pasternak offers one of the first looks at the two devices in two separate clips. The first features what seems to be an rare gold version of the iPhone 5s. Availability of the of the new color is thought to be extremely constrained as reports from those waiting in line have said Apple Stores will only be receiving five to ten units per location.
In the second clip, we see a yellow iPhone 5c complete with Apple's new silicone case. The new iPhones mark the return of first-party cases, which are crafted to fit the devices snugly. The 5c version, seen below, features holes to reveal the colorful plastic shell underneath, while the 5s case is more subdued and made of leather.
Apple is rolling out sales in 11 countries on Friday, opening its doors to customers starting at 8 a.m. local time. Those unwilling to wait in line can order the device via the Online Apple Store, though delivery times in countries such as Australia and the UK started out at 7 to 10 days.

As if I wasn’t depressed enough, some whacked-out Apple newbie acts like this…
Where has all the good Apple culture gone?
Back in the box¿

I'm starting to really like the white/gold iPhone with iOS7....Elegance (HW) meets elagance (SW). Apple really has produced the best, by far, smartphone.
Reminds me of just how beautiful the MBA's current iteration is. Apple really mastered the art of making a portable computer.
And don't forget the latest iMac. And the soon to be introduced MacPro.
I DL'd iOS7 on my black 4s and it looks really good. I'm getting the 5S in October, white and gold, no case.
I get the impression from the headline that the gold iPhone 5s is some super rare, one in a million phone.
The gold iPhone may be more in demand than the other colors for now, but it's not like Apple only made ten of them. There has got to be hundreds of thousands of them at least. Who's to say? Maybe there's more than a million of them.
It's surprising. I didn't think anyone bought iPhones anymore because their displays are too small to read. Every Android smartphone comes with a display nearly twice that size, twice the number of features and half the cost. That's what consumers want in the way of smartphones. Big display yet low in cost. That's the Android way of doing things. That's why the iPhone only has 15% mobile market share and Android smartphones have 80% market share. The end is near for Apple. With these recent smartphones, Apple is even more 'doomeder'. Nobody in the world is going to buy last year's iPhones no matter how nice the box is.

Sheesh... first Microsoft had their quickly retracted propaganda videos slamming the new iPhones, now Google has a clueless thrall on AI...
I thought to reply to this comment by quoting sales on sales increases year on year or profitability compared to android crap out there, but in the end my reply is 'What a load of garage and go somewhere else to be a troll'

Missed the /s... I haven't been on any forums for quite some time; apparently I need to brush up on the latest protocols... :-)

/s = end sarcasm
Only one or two guys waiting in line at 7pm.
Off-topic: for a while Siri absolutely could not understand "Steiner street." It could pronounce the street from its list of results, but it thought I was saying "Staynor street" which is somewhere in Saõ Tomé, Brazil. But a few tries later, now it understands "Steiner street" and shows me correct rresults. Maybe this is some of the learning heuristics hinted at in the iPhone presentation?
Probably the worst unboxing video ever. Makes me so angry with all the blurring and zooming in. The most useless take was focusing on the iPhone still in the box from the side. As if that wasn't bad enough, the next shot of the phone is straight into the red velvet case. Showing what? Showing "screw this, people are never going to know that my iPhone is gold". WHAT THE F-CK ARE YOU TRYING TO SHOW?!
First I wanted one, then I wanted the gray one, for a very short moment I wanted the silver one, but it's too white for my taste. So I reverted back to gray, but now, looking at the gold one...can't decide. Bit over the top to get them both; that was 'easier' with the shuffle.
While checking ATT.com...
Weird effect huh? I'm starting to suffer from this as well...
I am still a little worried about the screen size, but I can always sell it if I cannot read it.....
