Idiot. Health is a right. Otherwise you cannot pursue that BS American dream and personal accountability BS you libertarian and republican nuts are always flogging.

Health is not a right. Show us in the Constitution where it says you have the "right to be healthy". I'll wait.

You probably also think the US is a democracy, right?

Kernel or not, I think there's a panic.
It's a panic about the fate of America with three more years of Obama. Is inaction a form of action? The United States has lost a great deal of its influence in the world over the last few years (and tons in the last few months). And as far as his leadership goes, it's not a client crash, not a server crash, but a systemwide meltdown.

    Also, to hmm:
Apart from RAM, I've seen a couple of people with kernel panics caused by attached hardware, especially USB mouses where the cord gets too bent or frayed.

More shrill hyperbole. The influence we lost recently is because the republicans shut down the government for no gain, costing us billions of dollars. Also by threatening to not pay the people we owe money to. The leadership deficit is certainly on the republican side and they're getting desperate.

How many billions of dollars will ObamaCare cost you? It's a tax that was completely implemented and is now owned by Democrats. Speaking for myself, ObamaCare is going to cost me a hell of a lot PLUS I'm one of those who is losing their coverage thanks to this misguided monstrosity.

    b) it's a client crash - what they should really be showing is a web page 500 error.

No, the implication is the legislation itself is failure, not the website.

What? No. Both sides are equally responsible for that, and as it has ended, it ceases to be relevant.

As to the earlier point of ‘health’ and rights, healthcare is not denied anyone in the United States. Healthcare ? health insurance. Health insurance is not a right, just as Internet access is not a right.

The republicans were trying to get something for nothing. And they got nothing. The relevancy is shown in the publics opinion of congress. And it may come back to bite them at election time.

Get something for… it’s the House’s job to apportion the budget.

How, when the something for which they are asking is now being proposed by the people against it not two weeks ago?

A year from now, John Q. Public won’t remember the shutdown.

The budget is indeed the houses job. And Boehner had every right to try to use a shutdown to negotiate. But it's a pretty risky maneuver.

Something for which they were asking? Republicans didn't put anything on the table during the shutdown. Specifically. Democrats said they'd be willing to talk after the republicans ended the shutdown.

A year is a long time in politics. But last time when Gingrich tried it it seemed to cost them.

Your ‘something for nothing’ was ‘extension for Obamacare’. The Democratic party voted against that during the shutdown and have now proposed it themselves. Seems disingenuous, doesn’t it?

Let's keep the fact on the table as we fight please.

The US cannot not pay its debt, it is unconstitutional. Would other services have been affected, yes, but not the debt payments.

Republicans did not shut down the government as it takes ALL 3 branches of the government to function good or bad.

The irony is the Left did not want to negotiate on the individual mandate that some are calling for now, just to save their asses in 2014. So it is ALL politics on ALL sides.

For the record, I thought the fight on the individual mandate and defunding was the wrong fight, just the wrong battleground.

    Again, the facts please:

The Repubs put on the table defund, delay, and remove the congressional waver in 3 waves of negotiation attempts. The Dems did not negotiate at all and said they would not. Irony again is that some of them are now calling for the delay and most will have to remove the wavers for their staff.

The Dems said they would negotiate after the shutdown ended so the Repubs put forth temporary spending bills that would allow such negotiations and again, the Dems would not negotiate on ACA.

Now that everything has blown up, and much, much more is to come, the Dems are wanting to delay the individual mandate to save their asses in 2014.

Huh. This seems to have been accidentally posted in “Mac OS X” instead of “PoliticalOutsider”.

I think enough people would recognize the BSOD that they could have done this instead:

Actually, I prefer version that gives me some info about what just happened. Even if sweet ignorance is much more colourful. ;)

You're entitled to an opinion, but I (and millions more like me) have actual, provable financial harm done to us by passage of the law.

Dems said they'd work with reps after they ended the shutdown. And it is big legislation, I'm sure there will be changes.

The reason I say the reps are responsible for the shutdown is because obamacare was already a negotiated piece of legislation. Some people wanted single payer, some wanted no changes at all. The house and senate negotiated for something in between those choices. They passed it and the president signed it. It got taken to the Supreme Court and was found constitutional. Now of course that's not the end. I don't think politics ever ends really. Like a I said before it's Boehners right as speaker to try to defund an already passed law. It's one of the checks and balances of our government. But it doesn't have too successful of a history. I heard it was used to finally stop the war in Vietnam but I don't know the specifics at all. Nor the political fallout if any.

You've lost billions of dollars? And you have time to come on this message board? And there are millions more like you? That's amazing.
