General Electric has some pretty advanced technology for a non-tech company, you know, like jet engines, avionics, medical imaging, critical power infrastructure, factory automation equipment and toasters. They probably even have more software than Apple. They are a way more advanced technology company than ANY of the so-called tech companies mentioned.
What is funny is to compare this Forbes ranking to the well known and internationally respected Brandz one.
They use a different valuation based on customer assigned values instead of Wall Street ones which are a recognition of financials and not of what makes a brand. Not that Forbes valuation is useless but it measures another thing.
Microsoft is only 7th in Brandz and Samsung at the 30th rank.
Wait, but all the news articles, analyst commentary, blog, etc have all been telling me that Apple is a has-been, that has forgotten how to innovate, with products that are "so far behind" competitors, and that nobody cares about anymore. I'm so confused!
You're correct, it is not. The post was a response to Disturbia's question:
"WTF google's doing there?!!!! Other than coming up with freaking ideas to fool people to CLICK, what else they're capable of doing to help / serve our world?!!!'
He appeared unaware of anything about Google beyond ads.
My two-year old Samsung 58" plasma TV has pale violet 8-inch wide horizontal stripe across the screen whenever there is a white background, LIKE APPLE ADS! I think it's a conspiracy.
You've got all that money Apple, now how about making a phone with a bigger screen? I mean is it really that difficult???
Yeah, because Apple hasn't made a larger iPhone until now because they just "didn't have the money", right?
I mean, do you HONESTLY think Apple can't figure out how to make a bigger screen, or can't financially afford it? They have products with screen sizes from 1.5" to 30" and everything in between. Maybe, just MAYBE, it's not about "difficulty" or "money", but the fact that Apple has CHOSEN not to release such a product as of yet, because it simply did not want to and because they did not believe in this hypothetical product? If you had a shred of insight you could surmise dozens of reasons why Apple have chosen not to do so (comfort, lightness, pocketability, having only 1 line (until a couple months ago), screen quality, PPI, screen fragmentation, development ease, compatibility, acessory ecosystem etc etc). There's a good chance they might in the future, as those dynamics are changing, but to pretend Apple is too fucking stupid to make a bigger phone, with the cause being incompetence, based on Apple's history, makes you look like the fool.
Yes, teaearlegreyhot, you are correct based on the reported numbers. The reported conclusion is the exact opposite of the reported numbers. Samsung is the highest brand-to-ratio spender. How can they do that? It's so cheap to steal technology instead of inventing it, they have lots of extra cash.

Avoiding that 'til now, is HOW they got all that money?
Oh and they DO make a phone with a bigger screen: the LTE iPad mini and LTE iPad mini retina… at least for the way I use my phone. Proud consumer of 128 minutes of airtime since my first iPhone 3Gs….
1 an iPad was stabbed with a metal screwdriver piercing the battery while removing a security device, contrary to the security devices instructions.
2 Apple has to show that they are protecting their trademark or they risk losing it, this is a common occurrence, an everyday event in running a business which has trademarks.

GE is a non-tech company? I disagree.
..which is a point you and MStone agree on. GE absolutely qualifies as a tech.

And...
Since this years a LVMH (Louis Vuitton, Moët, Hennessy) executive works for apple. Interesting things... Interesting...
Certainly some admirable work in your list.
Should've gotten a Panasonic.

Cupertino, more than anyone else...
There fixed that for you.

Like FaceTime on an iPad?
One of the few things Samsung cannot copy.
This is no different than J. D. Power awards. You’ll see Samsung beat Apple next year.

That was because 18 stars are better than 22.
All Samsung did was change the laws of mathematics.
All Samsung did was change the laws of mathematics.
*gasp* So that’s how Apple will manage to release 10.10 next year!
Really?
No mentioning of these recent events?
This page really is the Pravda of the tech-world...

Boring, irrelevant and blocked.
Buy Samsung maybe you will be more satisfied than with Apple products.
