I am not getting that issue and you say still. Have you tried to troubleshoot this?

Safari is crashing like crazy for me on 10.9

    What about 10.9.1?

10.9 crashed all the time on Apple Insider for me but nowhere else. 10.9.1 (as a developer had this a while) has not crashed once.

I did have to do a full reinstall of Mavericks as well as an update to fix a few other weird things such as some permissions that would not repair. Now all is very stable for me so far on several Macs.

Yes - I went to my local Apple store and the problem occurred on every MacBook Air & Pro in the store; however, it does not happen on iMacs.

    Here's what I'm doing:

    1. Select some text on a page or in a document (especially a phrase or text with more than one word) e.g. MacBook Air . Note that I'm selecting the text by clicking and dragging the cursor over the text.

    2. Either do a right-click (Ctrl + click) & copy; or select Copy from the Edit menu.

    3. Paste the copied text into the Safari web/search field and hit Enter.

    4. The space between "MacBook" and "Air" is changed to "%20" and thus Safari tries to search for:  http://macbook air

which returns a "Safari can't find the server error".

It's a real pain, as I copy and paste to search all day long.

    ^ post

I can't replicate this on my Mac pro 5.1 with 10.9.1 and 7.0.1 Maybe toss your prefs?

edit; prefs can't be it if you replicate this behaviour on different MacBooks in the Store. Time for a Genius I guess.

WTF is up with AI? I have to type everything in TextEdit and paste it in.  Phil I tried your test on my 2010 MBP and it works like it suppose to.

Remember that the bug in Lion where the OS (maddeningly) ignored unchecking "reopen all windows at startup" didn't get fixed until 10.7.4.

That was a nightmare for users for about seven months.

I was recommending that clients and friends not buy macs running 10.7 at the time - that was such a glaring bug, it was like driving a Tesla with a passenger side door that wouldn't open.

Right now I'm holding off on upgrading to Mavericks until the OS no longer (maddeningly) ignores unchecking "enable mirroring" and forgets all my multiple monitor settings at every reboot.

I figure that'll happen around 10.9.4 - about seven months from now (or when all those shiny new Mac Pros get smashed in frustration by high-end multiple monitor users).

Apple really needs to step up software quality control. Since Lion I've personally experienced bugs on a scale previously reserved for Vista and Windows ME.

Basic stuff goes out broken, but damn it looks nice.

Mentioning the late lamented Mr Jobs' single-minded focus on quality control at this point in this thread, well, I won't go there...

    But, someone needs an ass-chewing.

This is not a security breach, but rather a new feature. You can shut if off in your preferences.

You can't have spaces in url's %20 is the same as a space.

You do realize that the "address bar" and the "search bar" are a unified "bar" in safari, correct?

Because the person was not saying they entered "http://Macbook Pro" into the "bar" they said they entered in "Macbook Pro" and Safari is the one who decided to convert it to an http address instead of doing what it should, and that is search for "macbook pro"

Regarless...... Safari 7+ has been AWESOME compared to any Safari I've used before. Also, my text entry field for web address and searches works.............flawlessly ;)

Bringing back an old thread, furious, don’t care. They did nothing to it in 10.9.1 despite it being the most broken new addition to Mavericks.

iBooks needs to go. Just get it out of OS X. They can’t do it right, they don’t care about fixing it, it doesn’t even import ANY files correctly. It’s useless on a computer in the first place, I was always against it, just get rid of it.

Fill the folder with content, it doesn’t recognize the content in it. That makes sense, of course; the .plist can only tell the application about what it knows. EXCEPT that restoring an entire folder of known working iBooks content from a backup–including .plist–also results in a completely blank iBooks application. Deleting the .plist, as mentioned above, does nothing to rebuild the library. Wiping the folder entirely doesn’t wipe content from iBooks the application. Adding new content to the empty folder magically brings back an old .plist out of absolutely nowhere that doesn’t apply to any content being added. Deleting a book or PDF from iBooks DOES NOT REMOVE IT FROM THE FOLDER containing the iBooks content in the first place.

It’s just broken. Forget about morons whining about how Gmail doesn’t work with Mail; who would want to use Gmail? At least an OS X iBooks was desired by some people…

I haven’t been able to automatically sync anything to my devices for months because iBooks would wipe the content that is already on them. This is completely unacceptable.

I meant that as a serious post. They may have a solution for you. That forum is my goto forum for getting in-depth help with Apple related technical issues, sans beta products or coding.

So is it the MacWorld subforum or… because that site itself doesn’t exist.

There are many, many issues with distorted audio problems that point to Mavericks. Apogee Duet Fire Wire, iTunes, and many other DAW users have documentation back to October about problems. There is a rumor that 10.9.2 has corrected the issue, but this is unconfirmed.
