SGI has been major supplier for CAD, Virtual reality, Multimedia Server, and Many professional area. And As a member of PIXAR, we bought many of their system and I liked it.
We are buying SGI with one apple stock with 10 SGI stock !
After we got the approve from SEC, APPLE will reorganized to two division !
First Division is Macintosh Division. It will be charge with Consumer & Pro-sumer Market!
Second Division is SGI Division. It will be charge with Professional Market and Server Market.
We will be using ALL SGI?s technology into Macintosh in the future and SGI Division?s system will use New OS X Pro OS in the future Also SGI division will change all of their CPU to PowerPC base system in the future!
And we are terminating NT & Linux base system development soon and We will convert these system with Darwin base OS.

SGI was one of the best case of using it since all of their interface are X-window based !
And this is 21st century and we will have 21st century version of one. Yes. It is not your old macintosh anymore ! And it is totally different than what others are just showing as proto-type!

It has OS X lite OS with Netboot client mode.
- OS X in Any macintosh can be Netboot server for iPAD. iMac, ibook are also included.
It can boot from Airport II !. And because it is Client software, it does not need reboot iPAD! it will just replace it?s own window with servers window.
And no speed decrease since all the calculation is done on Server!
And it is using OS X -lite that it can be use by itself. We will have many many S/W for the Lite version. The QuickTime is the first of it and you can playback Quicktime file and read PDF E-book without server.

Actually, I posted the question knowing full well that Apple itself stated in early December 2001 that the next major release wouldn't appear until summer 2002.
There is just no way all of the pieces needed for this will be in place by MWNY 2002.
Sorry, just not gonna happen.
Look at how long it took Apple to get where we are now. And suddenly within 6 months we are supposed to be light years ahead?
Ooookay. Even OS X won't be far enough along to do EVERYTHING that Kormac says it will. There are definate possibilities, but realisticlly we wont see anything called a G5 until the end of the year.
Expect modest G4 CPU speed bumbs, finally a move to DDR ram and hopefully something along the lines of ATA/100 for a disk interface. Thats about as exciting as it will get for a while.
The rumors of ultra-fast sealed test Power Macs are most likely the DDR motherboards with modest CPU bumps. Possibly the first OS X-optimized hardware/chipset as well.
OS 9 is dead is the message to developers, now Apple can move the hardware forward without OS 9 (legacy) support holding it back.

1.2 will be almost a year on from 1.1?
Perhaps 1.2 was meant to be delivered much sooner.
Apple strikes me as a company that is struggling to get things out soon enough.
New imac was ready for a while before actually released.
Quicktime 6. Delayed.
Gigawire.
1.2 smacks of delayed update.
G5 processors. Delayed.
G4 progress. Delayed.
Mobo revision. Delayed.
ibook cpu revision? Slow in coming.
Apple need to execute a little faster. Delivering product ramps...still a struggle for them.
Hmmm.
Apple have come a long way in the last five years as typified by the release of Maya for 'X'.
But they still have fundamental things to address soon.
The 'rackmount' might be a hint of things to come in terms of addressing the 'performance' issues.
Kormac77 'insider/speculative' post makes for an enticing read if it is to be taken as 'pending' market moves by Apple.
I await his further speculation. It makes for enlightened reading...

The iPad is still an exciting device - even after our discussions of 2-3 years back!
I dont feel I can speculate as its all been said (and done to the most part already with Sonys Airboard).
